A Note From Coach Bill. . .

Some very common expressions that we hear or find ourselves saying when we encounter parents

and their children are, “he/she looks like his or her father.” He or she is certainly a daddy’s boy or girl.

These expressions are used as a way of complimenting the parent and also noticing family resem-

blances or characteristics that connect the parent to the child and the child to the parent. In a dra-

matic moment with his disciples, Philip addresses Jesus in John 14:8, “Lord, show us the Father and

that will be enough for us.” Jesus replies in verse nine, “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have

been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.” May it be said

of us as we walk with Jesus, he/she looks just like the Lord. And may we who are fathers live before

our children a Christlike life that it will be said, they look like the Father.

Richard Evans received four new Nazarene’s into membership before sharing God’s Word to a

crowd of 71...the largest attendance since Pastor Evans arrived in Sidney. When you entered the church you could sense the excitement as the congregation had been preparing for this day for months. God’s

abundant blessing was evident throughout the day.
