Think rockford university is like any other university? Think again.

It’s not hard to fit in here. Whether you are working with a professor and classmates to present innovative research, participating in a student club, playing your favorite sport, or volunteering to help feed the homeless at a local shelter, you will find opportunities to belong inside and outside of the classroom.

To us, it’s more than just offering different experiences. It’s bringing together different communities of our campus, intersecting the groups with each other, and cohesively building one family. Student-athletes perform in plays; biochemistry majors write articles for the literary magazine; and students, along with faculty and staff, volunteer side by side to help local nonprofits.

That’s how we define community.

Rockford University graduates aren’t like everyone else. In fact, our alumni are pretty amazing. For more than 168 years, Rockford graduates have made their mark all around the world. Far more than preparing students to do something, we empower our graduates to accomplish anything.

That empowerment starts right on our campus. With rich academic opportunities, practical experiences, and global perspectives, RU students succeed in an inviting community where you can do anything, be anything, and experience anything.

Think rockford university is like any other university? Think again.

“I like RU because it is small and you actually get to know your professors. The campus is like a real community; you get to know almost everyone.” —David Kubacki

An inviting campus is more than just being welcoming and friendly. At Rockford University, you see a campus community where members truly engage in personal relationships with each other – students, faculty, staff, alumni, and more. From the moment you step foot on campus – it feels like home.

And while in this setting, you are able to discover professional and personal opportunities. From internships to career opportunities, sporting events to theater productions, Rockford and nearby Chicago, Madison, and Milwaukee provide a wealth of places to explore.

Students are attracted to our institution for many reasons. But it’s our people, our faculty and staff, who by far are the number one reason students attend Rockford University.

Our faculty and staff show a commitment to the individual through their expertise and caring nature. In classrooms across campus, faculty members guide students step-by-step as they gain knowledge, values, and skills to inform their personal and professional lives. Students learn firsthand from experts in their respective disciplines – most holding the highest degrees in their fields – while staff members are there to help students with questions when they aren’t in the classroom.

“I like that I know the staff and faculty and that they know me. Whenever I need someone to turn to there is someone right there cheering for my success and helping me during challenges. The support is astounding and truly priceless.” — Brittany Petrelli
