Rock Your Profile
• There is no shortage of
activity
• It is unclear how the
employee promises
support current work
• The employee promise
statements are not
woven into the
employee lifecycle
• Some regional work
really stands out above
the rest
• We might be promising
things we can't deliver
• We don’t have a reliable
vehicle to communicate
and engage with all
employees

Build a great profile
The top portion of your profile is known as the top card. This is where most members spend most of the viewing when looking at a profile.
A quarter of unique members visit LinkedIn via Mobile. What does this mean? It means that you have about 2 inches of screen to make an impression, so have a professional headshot, make sure you are sharing a comprehensive work history, and most importantly have a catchy headline.
The pieces we will touch on today are:
• Photo• Headline• Summary• Experience• Rich Media
• Professional photo
• Attention grabbing headline
Select a photo that represents you professionally. This helps humanize your profile and makes you more approachable. You don’t have to enlist the help of a professional photographer – ensure you’re dressed professionally, alone in the image and request the help of a colleague!
Your profile is the front page of your story. The headline is a great way to show your value and passion in one quick line. Inspire the viewer to read more.
Don’t forget about a background photo!

Summary
What you do
The value you provide
Something personal
Adding a summary of 40 words or more
makes your profile more likely to turn up
in a search. A good tip is to ensure your
summary includes keywords featured in
your field. Describe your experience and
tell the world why you work in your
chosen career. Avoid buzzwords and
focus on your career accomplishments.
This is your 30-second elevator pitch.
The first thing you want to list is what you
do. Let your passion come out here.
Hopefully you enjoy what you do. Let
your viewer see what a day in the life of
you is like.
Next write the value you provide.
Highlight some accomplishments!
Finally, write something personal. In
relationship dynamics, when you first
meet someone, do you divulge all of your
business? No! It works similarly in
social media. When someone see’s
something personal on your profile, they
are more apt to engage with you and feel
that you're approachable.

Questions to help you tell your story!
• When thinking about the work I do, what words do my clients/peers/managers consistently use to describe my work?
• How would I describe what I do to someone completely unfamiliar with my field?
• What do I want to be professionally known for?
• What can people expect me to bring to the table?
• What do I love most about what I do?

Experience Detail work experience
Add examples of your work or videos from your company
Include volunteer experience and causes
It’s essential to list all past experience. Showcase your career successes, elaborate on projects you have completed, and discuss how you have made an impact at the organization or school. This should not read as a resume!
Adding causes and volunteer experience is a great way to round out your professional identity.
Illustrate your unique professional story and achievements by adding visuals such pictures, compelling videos, links to news stories and innovative presentations to your experience section.
Give a dynamic, visually appealing representation of your professional story. Show, just don’t tell!

Rich Media
You can add up to up to 3 links on your
