Thompson’s Gallery would like to invite you to view adefinitive exhibition of renowned Scottish painter RobertKelsey’s latest works.

Kelsey has developed a creative reputation from his faithfuldepictions of the coastal landscapes of Western Scotland andits adjacent islands. Well travelled, Kelsey also often paintssuch disparate locations as the Mediterranean, Suffolk andCornwall. This show is no exception to Kelsey’s indomitableartistic scope as we see him journey from the twilightfootpaths of London’s riverside to the achingly attractiveskyscapes of Lake Garda and the irresistible waters of Venice.One cannot mention Kelsey’s artistic skill without observinghis dedication to the form of light and colour, to which hebrings an unparalleled accuracy.

Thompson’s Gallery has had the pleasure of showing RobertKelsey’s work consistently since 1994. This year sees Kelseybecome the latest President of The Glasgow Art Club and it istestament to his artistic commitment and enthusiasm that hecontinues to serve both his studio and academic disciplines.

Born in Glasgow 1949

Studied at Glasgow School of Art 1966 - 1970awarded D.A.

A career in art education followed, until 1995when he elected to become a full time artist.

Robert has served on the councils of bothPaisley Art Institute and Glasgow Art Club.From February 2012 Robert will becomePresident of Glasgow Art Club

Awarded the Diploma of Artist Membership ofThe Paisley Art Institute in 1998. (P.A.I.)

Robert became a Fellow of the Royal Society ofArts in 2009 (FRSA)

He received an Honorary Master’s Degree fromthe University of the West of Scotland in 2010( MUniv.)
