How to prepare for a job interview
I’m ready for this interview and I feel confident !
How to prepare for a job interview:• Research the company.• Learn why the company needs the position
filled.• Get good directions to the interview location
and plan to be early.• Learn how to pronounce the interviewer’s
name.• Practice interviewing until you feel confident.
What TO DO on a job interview
I have 103 applications on my desk …all for the same job. So what makes YOU think I should hire YOU?
What TO DO on a job interview:Arrive early…and bring a copy of your resume
Pronounce the interviewer’s name correctly.
Smile; be positive.
Wait until you are offered a chair to sit.
Shake hands firmly.
Don’t say derogatory things about your present or former employers.
Other important job interview tips:1. Turn your cell phone off.2. Don’t chew gum.3. Don’t answer with a simple
“yes” or “no”. Interviewers want to know what you think.
4. Don’t over-answer questions.5. Steer clear of controversial
subjects…even if the interviewer brings them up.
6. Wait to ask about salary, vacations, bonuses, retirement plan…unless they are interested in hiring you.
7. If you are asked about the salary you expect, say you are interested in the job opportunity. If “pushed” give a salary range.
What NOT TO DO on a job interview…
Dress inappropriately
Talk on your cell or text someone
Dude, I’m like at this interview right now…so I’ll call ya back in 10 minutes.
Act disinterested in the job
Act like you’re entitled to the job
Look at the time on your watch
