Since you were on the 1993 Rockies team, we’re going to jump into some flashback questions. What was your favorite movie from 1993? Who was your favorite “Seinfeld” character? George Costanza How much do you think a stamp cost back in 1993? $0.27. Good guess, it was actually $.29. Oh man! I was close! And gasoline cost an average of $1.11 per gallon. Wow. That makes me feel old. I can’t even imagine that price now. You’re a Texan and an alum of Texas Christian University. So what is a horned frog? I have no idea! That’s a good question. What’s your favorite food? Enchiladas If you won the Powerball, what’s the first thing you’d buy? I would pay off our houses. What’s your favorite vacation? I love to go on Caribbean cruises. What was your first car? A 1975 Volk- swagen Dasher. It was an old $500 car. What was your first job? I worked at the Boys Club. Which is your favorite Freddie from this list? If you had to choose a batter intro song right now, what would it be? I don’t know. I’d have to get my kids involved in helping me pick! Tell us about your kids. My wife is Voileta and we have a 20-year-old daughter, Krizia, and twins, Alec and Sienna, 15. Krizia is a dancer at University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Who is the funniest teammate you’ve ever had? Who would it be...there were some clowns. Curtis Leskanic was pretty funny, but it’s hard to pick just one person. Who is your best friend from your playing days? I have a lot of good friends from baseball. In Cincinnati, I was good friends with Barry Larkin and Dave Martinez. But I made a lot of good friends. Who was your favorite player growing up? Dave Concepción What was your best memory as a player? Probably my first base hit, finally feeling like I made it. That was 1991 with the Reds against the Dodgers. What was it like being the starting shortstop on Opening Day 1993? It was an unbelievable feeling.
