IRELAND’S CULTURE, SOCIETY & JUSTICE SYSTEM Waterford, Ireland HIGHLIGHTS: Explore Irish crime as depicted in popular culture and juxtapose this with actual criminal activity involving Irish immigrants in the U.S. and Irish criminal activity in Ireland. Gain first-hand knowledge of Irish cultural history through excursions around Waterford, Kilkenny, Dublin, Killarney, and neighboring cities. Identify similarities and differences between Ireland and the U.S. in terms of crime and crime control strategies. Course can count towards an immersion or minor in Criminal Justice or as elective credit. Open to all undergraduate majors, no pre-requisites.
