RISK, LIABILITY +EXPOSURE DELIVERING POSITIVE OUTCOMES
CALL FOR SPEAKERS
Life. Property. Environment.
Traditionally run as separate events, we are joining these two
sectors together into a bigger and better conference and trade show
that promises to attract key decision makers and leading subject
matter experts from government and industry.
The conference and tradeshow will attract key industry
professionals from the fire protection, fire safety, emergency
management and hazardous materials sectors from across Australia
and overseas as well as representatives of government and fire
agencies. All of these stakeholders will be engaged by a wide
variety of presentations and industry experts, with a passion for
delivering positive outcomes.
The conference will include presentations that span three specific
streams:
• Fire Protection Strategic Stream (Risk, Liability, Exposure) •
Fire Protection Technical Stream • HazMat Stream
The Fire Protection Strategic Stream is for presentations that
provide holistic industry views aligned to the main conference
theme, whereas the Fire Protection Technical Stream and Hazmat
Stream are dedicated to presentations on subject-specific
matters.
This structure provides more opportunities for speakers, allowing
them to target their presentation for a specific audience or
purpose. The aim is to encourage a broad cross-section of speakers
and allow delegates the flexibility and opportunity to attend
presentations that are topical, current and most relevant to their
role in the fire protection and hazardous materials sector.
THE CONFERENCE FIRE AUSTRALIA & HAZMAT 2016 IS THE PREMIER
EVENT FOR THE FIRE PROTECTION AND HAZARDOUS MATERIALS SECTOR.

FIRE PROTECTION STRATEGIC STREAM The theme of the conference and
tradeshow is Risk, Liability, Exposure – Delivering Positive
Outcomes.
Managing risk and limiting liability and exposure is a daily
challenge shared by everyone involved in fire protection. Essential
to managing these risks is to identify areas of vulnerability,
ensuring appropriate strategies and systems are in place to prevent
things going wrong and understanding the possible consequences
should systems fail.
Presentations in this stream should consider two key areas:
1. The risk of fire – exploring opportunities to improve the
protection of life, property and the environment; and
2. Business risks – such as financial, personal and reputational
risk to business owners, their employees and their customers.
FIRE PROTECTION TECHNICAL STREAM The Fire Protection Technical
Stream is an opportunity for speakers to share their technical
knowledge, experiences, research and information on any subject
related to the fire protection industry. Ideally the subject matter
will relate to one of the following areas:
• Early Warning & Detection • Fire Suppression • Passive Fire
Protection • Emergency Planning • Bushfire • Maintenance • Product
Testing & Approval
HAZMAT STREAM Incorporation of the HazMat stream into the
conference maintains the status of this event as the leading
conference for the chemical management, dangerous goods and
hazardous materials industries. Presentations in this stream may
address any topical and current themes within these sectors or
affiliated industries such as:
• Chemical Management & Safety • Transport, Storage &
Handling • Emergency Management and Response
