RISHABHDEV CO-AXIAL CABLES

Rishabhdev co-axial cables, used for Cable TV Network, are the best that money can buy. Each feature is specially designed to give you the benefit. Theinner conductor is made of electrolytic grade copper, drawn in-house on modern machines. The low loss, special grade polyethylene foam is insulationcompound is extruded on sophisticated machines. The double screen (laminated AI tape and AI wire braid) ensures low loss transmission and clearreception. This is most evident in areas with high concentration of electromagnetic signals. The double screen offers better attenuation values thancables with single screening. Higher bandwidth, which means more than 50 channels. Excellent adhesion of dielectric to conductors, as well as bondedaluminium foil to dielectric does not allow moisture to enter the cables. This makes it ideal for tropical conditions.

Stringent tests & checks at every stage, from RM, through Mfg. up to the finished product High quality standards expected of every RTL product.

Special Features :l High bandwidthl Low attenuation values.l Minimum structural return loss.l Low loss in signal quality.l Ideal for power pass applications.

PVC & XLPE LT POWER CABLESRishabhdev Technocable Ltd. is manufacturing LT Power Cables with PVC or XLPE insulation of voltage grade upto 3.3 KV conforming to various Indianand International Standard Specifications. RTL also manufactures other types of cables as listed at the end of this catalogue.

CROSS LINKED POLYETHYLENE (XLPE)XLPE means cross-linked polyethylene or vulcanized polyethylene. The basic material is low density polyethylene. Polyethylene is a thermoplasticmaterial consisting of long chain of hydrocarbon molecules. At elevated temperatures these molecules tend to move relative to one another so that thematerial becomes increasingly deformable and will eventually melt at the temperature around 1100C.

By means of process similar to the vulcanization of rubber the polyethylene molecules can be cross-linked. The process of cross-linking or vulcanizationconsists of producing chemical bonds at interval between the long molecular chain to give a Ladder effect which prevents slippage between molecules. As a result of cross-linking the material becomes heat resistant and does not soften at higher temperatures. Further it has better resistances to stresscracking and good resistance to ageing in hot air. With the change of structure there is no adverse effect on electrical properties.

Advantages of RTL XLPE CABLES4 Dielectric losses are very small.

4 Higher current carrying capacity.

4 Higher short circuit rating 2500C. as against 1600C for PVC.

4 RTL XLPE can retain flexibility down upto - 400C.

4 Jointing and Termination is easy.

4 Light in Weight

4 They are not prone to fatigue damages due to vibrations or loadings cycles.

4 Has better resistances to most chemicals, oils, acdis, etc.

4 Can be installed along cable routes without elevation limitations.

Properties & Advantages of Rishabhdev Cables

1. A basic advantage of Rishabhdev is that insulationresistance and breakdown strength are practicallyunaffected by moisture. In fact, Rishabhdev cable mayeven be laid directly under water.

2. Rishabhdev cables may be over loaded for shortperiods without any effect on cable life.

3. Since there is no impregnating compound in thesecables, they can be laid vertically and on steep slopes.Further, there is no danger of bleeding at lower levelsealing ends.

4. Rishabhdev cables have high short circuit safety sincethey can withstand a high transient conductortemperature without any deformation of insulation ordisplacement of conductors.

5. Rishabhdev cables are resistant to practically allchemicals encountered in practice. Most of thecommon acids, alkalies and saline solutions have noeffect on Rishabhdev.

6. Rishabhdev cables are flame retardant sinceRishabhdev ignites with great difficulty and that toowhen directly exposed to a flame. It does notpropagate the flame. Rishabhdev extinguishes itselfas soon as the source of fire is removed.

7. Due to their light weight, Rishabhdev cables are easyto install and handle. Besides, there is a saving incable supports. Small bending radii permit thetermination of these cables in limited space. This easesthe termination of Rishabhdev cables in switchboardsand control panels.

8. Low tension Rishabhdev cables do not require sealingends when installed indoors, hence termination isdone quickly and economically.

9. Rishabhdev cables have a smooth outer surfaceresulting in a neat appearance when installedRishabhdev outer sheath is tough and abrasion proof.

10.Rishabhdev cable have a long service life.

General Construction

Conductors

The conductors of power cables are normally made fromelectrical purity aluminium and those of control cablesare of annealed high conductivity copper. However, copper conductor power cable can also be suppliedagainst orders. All conductors conform to IS:8130.

Normally, aluminium conductors up to size 10sq. mm.are solid, circular in cross section, and sizes above10sq.mm. are stranded. In case of single core and twincore cables they are circular in cross section while for 3core and 4 core cables, conductors of cross section 25sq.mm. and above are normally sector shaped.

Insulation : The conductors are insulated with the highquality Rishabhdev PVC base compound.

Core identification

Colour Scheme : Cores are identified by colourscheme of PVC insulation. The following colourscheme is adopted :-

1 Core- Red, Black, Yellow or Blue2 Core - Red and Black3 Core - Red, Yellow and Blue4 Core - Red, Yellow, Blue and Black(also 3 1/2 core) (reduced neutral core is black)5 Core - Red, Yellow, Blue, Black and light Grey

For cables having more than 5 cores:

Two adjacent cores (counting and directional) in 4 eachlayer are coloured Blue and Yellow respectively and theremaining cores are light Grey.

Inner Sheath: for all cables having two or more cores, acommon covering (inner sheath) is applied over the laidup cores either by extruded sheath of un-vulcanisedrubber compound or wrapping of plastic or proofed tapes.Single core cables do not have inner sheath.

Armouring : Armouring is applied over the inner sheath. In case of cables where diameter over the inner sheathdoes not exceed 13 mm., the armour consists ofgalvanised round steel wires; above this size, normallythe armour is of galvanised flat steel wires (strips).

Armouring of Rishabhdev mining cables consists ofgalvanised round steel wires / strips, but wherevernecessary, a few tinned copper wires/strips are alsoincluded to meet the conductance requirements ofarmouring for mining cables as specified in DGMS letterNos. E(Hq)/43/1374 dated 27-10-1971 and43/1516/EHQ dated 11-10-1972.

Outer Sheath : Over the armouring, or in case ofunarmoured cables, over the inner sheath (for single corecables over the insulation) a tough outer sheath ofRishabhdev is extruded. This is always black in colour, for best resistance to outdoor exposure.

The manufacturers name and trade mark RTL - KOMETRishabhdev along with the year / year code ofmanufacture are embossed on the outer sheath;additionally in the case of LT cables, the word ELECTRICand in the case of HT cables, the voltage grade is alsoembossed. In the case of Rishabhdev mining cables, the word MINING is added in the embossing script. Theembossing script repeats in such a way that every meterof the cable bears the same script.

Type designation : Type designation of Rishabhdevcables is based on the following alphabeticalnomenclature:

A - Aluminium conductors - When first letter oftype designation. When type designationdoes not contain A in the beginning, thencable is with copper conductors.

Y - When at first or second place in typedesignation it stand for PVC insulation.

CE - Individual core screening.W - Round steel wire armouringF - Flat steel wire (strip) armouring.Gb - Steel tape counter helix.Y - When last in type designation , it stands forPVC outer sheath.

Conductor Types:

re - Circular, solid conductorrm - Circular, stranded conductor.rm/v - Circular, stranded compacted conductor.sm - Sector shaped, stranded conductor.

Number of cores, conductor cross section, voltagegrade are written in the usual manner.

These cables are suitable for control purposes ormeasuring circuit, in generating stations, sub-stations,industrial installations, etc., as well as for railwaysignalling. They can be installed indoors or outdoors, inair or in cable ducts.

These cables are suitable for control purposes ormeasuring circuits in generating stations, sub-stations,industrial installations, etc., as well as for railwaysignalling. On account of the armouring, the cables cabwithstand rough installation and operation conditions andtensile stresses. These can be laid in water or burieddirect in the ground even on steep slopes. They can alsobe installed indoors or outdoors, in air or in cable ducts.

Light weight and small permissible bending radii makesingle core Rishabhdev cables very easy to install. Thesecables are therefore particularly useful in power stationsand sub-stations where a comparatively large number ofcables in short lengths are to be used.

These power cables are suitable for use in generatingstations, sub-stations, house-service connections, street lighting, industrial installations, building wiring, etc. They can be installed indoors or outdoors,in air or in cable ducts.
