Today we remember the three wise men from the East who came to pay homage to the infant Jesus, bringing him rich gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. The gifts we bring –our time and service and some share of what we earn for the work we do –are equally precious in His sight. Stewardship Thought: In our daily lives we manage our family and work responsibilities. But to become occupied with these important matters to the exclusion of the need of others outside our home or work is a mistake we could carry into eternity.
May Darlene know heaven’s peace
We offer our prayers to the family and friends of
Darlene Jacobs whose Mass of Christian Burial
was at St. Catherine’s Church on December 27.
May Darlene know God’s love and goodness and
may she shine with the saints in heaven.
Eternal rest grant onto her O Lord, and let perpetual
light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.
We offer our prayers to the newest member of
our parish family, Emmelin Jane Frank who was
recently baptized at St. Bonaventure’s Catholic
Church in Underwood with Fr. Patrick
Cunningham. May her parents, Tim & Rachel
know of our prayers and loving support as they
bring her up to know the love of Jesus. May
God bless your family with his great love.
St. Bonaventure’s Please plan on helping take
down all the Christmas decorations. We will do
this on Saturday, January 11 right after Mass.
The more people we have helping, the faster it
will go! See you there.

Matthew Arnold recounts the life story of St. Pio of Pietrelcina, a twentieth century saint and mystic who is known around the world as Padre Pio. This presentation includes fascinating details about St. Pio’s ministry of hearing confessions, his ability to read souls, the multitude of miracles attributed to his intercession, and how he bore the stigmata, that is, the wounds of Christ. All are wise to learn from the advice of this holy man to “pray, hope, and don’t worry.”
