Cravings Dinner for four

Cravings was the fi rst full Sushi Restaurant to be established in Curacao. Over the past 16 years they have grown into a landmark on the island as a favorite place for lunch or dinner for both locals as tourist. One of the main reasons for their success is the fact that all their fi sh is fl own in fresh every week, and we can honestly say that we use only the best ingredients money can buy. As an artist Birgitte tries to touch the viewers heart and spirit, not primarily expect outside recognition of an existing form of nature. Sometimes she uses known shapes though be it in a stylized even abstract way to bring across feelings, happy or sad, tender or strong. By using all the possibilities of the materials -be it stone, wood or metal-, exploiting all the forms, volumes, textures, negative spaces, even lines, she wants to create a new reality. She loves combining masses, use contrasts to translate mythical messages into our daily life. There are stories told, too, at times, dramatic or poetic ones, sad or funny. It also thrills her to sometimes bring beauty to our surroundings, be it in nature, gardens -or in our direct dwellings- houses or workspaces.

Jewelry - Lionfi sh Hanger made by Maria Hickerson

Bob Hickerson and fi ancee Maria Andreu have developed a lionfi sh eradication tool that enables divers to spear lionfi sh and remove them from reefs without handling the venomous invader. The tool is called The Frapper and it is essentially a mini-spear encased in tubing. Divers can actually strap The Frapper to a leg or clip to a buoyancy compensation device leaving the diver hands free to perform other tasks. Hickerson has applied for a patent and plans to make them available for sale soon.

Monique Harbers has lived in Curaçao since 2009. In November 2012 her seventh solo exhibition ‘Minus 400 Feet’, featuring underwater photographs of the coral reef, was inaugurated at the Curaçao Maritime Museum. In her photographic work, she grasps the beauty of Curaçao, the colors, the stunning lighting, architecture, nature, highlighted details of historic mansions as well as portraits. Photography already played an important role in the years when she lived in Madrid and Amsterdam. Monique Harbers was asked to expose her own photography work in the artists’ lounge at the Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival 2011 and 2012 as well. This was a great honor to her. Inclusief een 10-weekse gehoorzaamheidscursus door Politieman Kook. Puppy is geboren op 22 februari bij een gezin op Curacao. Begeleid door dierenarts Comenencia & Tomsjansen. De kruising Mechelse Herder is geen gewone huishond maar een werk-hond pur sang. De geschiedenis en het politiehondenwerk waarvoor ze specifi ek gefokt zijn maakt ze zo bijzonder. “Elk voor heb zijn tegen”, is een uitspraak van Johan Cruijff. Dit geldt zeker voor deze inmiddels wereldberoemde populatie honden. Een kundige baas kan met deze honden enorme prestaties neerzetten, maar voor een onkundige baas kan zo’n hond een drama zijn. Zeven schilderijen van de lokale schilder Rene Metsch. Deze zijn gemaakt ter gelegenheid van de CIFFR, het Curacao International Film Festival Rotterdam, en door Rene aangeboden aan Fundashon Bon Intenshon. Fundashon Bon Intenshon heeft de schilderijen laten signeren en daarna gedoneerd aan de Ride for the Roses. De schilderijen beelden een bekende acteur af en zijn gesgineerd door een bekende fi lm director. Rita Hayworth is een bekende amerikaanse actrice en het schilderij is gesigneerd door Pablo Berge, Director van Blancanieves (Award Winner).

“Ik schilder op gevoel en ik zoek kleur. Dan voel ik mij happy. Kleur is voor mij een kracht, een manier om mij uit te drukken. Dat wat op het doek komt, komt uit mijn hart en omarm ik. Heerlijk is dat”. Schilderen is haar passie. Haar inspiratie haalt zij uit (wilde) bloemen, de natuur, de mensen om haar heen en haar eigen fantasie. Ze werkt graag met veel, liefst felle kleuren en natuurprodukten. She uses both natural and man made materials for her sculptures. Natural material like marble, limestone, Curaçao limestone, alabaster. Man made material like bronze and cement composites.

Na tientallen maanden intensief zoeken naar een leuk, klein Landhuisje welke ook nog op een goede locatie lag vond Patricia Brunswyck dit prachtige huisje. Het was altijd een droom geweest om een authentiek Curacaosch pand om te toveren in een intiem restaurant/catering lokatie. Niet alles hoeft groot te zijn en aan het strand te liggen. Het is net zo gezellig vertoeven onder één van onze knepabomen achter in de tuin die pre-cies op de wind ligt. Het gehele Classics concept leefde al in dit pand, het leek alsof ze voor elkaar bestemd waren. Landhuis Classics staat voor heerlijk dineren. Het interieur is een combinatie van klassiek en modern, zo ook ons menu!

Ronald Koeman is begonnen met profvoetbal bij FC Groningen, hierna heeft hij voor de volgende clubs gespeeld: AFC Ajax, PSV Eindhoven, FC Barcelona en zijn laatste twee seizoenen heeft hij gevoetbald bij Feyenoord. Babette de Waele has been living on the island for almost 7 years now. In 2001 she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Tilburg, the Netherlands . During that time she studied in Granada, Spain for a while as well. She has been an art teacher by day, artist by night ever since. In Holland she has had several exhibitions. She has had some pieces in exhibitions at Landhuis Bloemof here in Curacao and also does commis-sioned work . As much as sheI enjoys teaching, her true passion lies with creating art.

Marco van Basten heeft een indrukwekkende carrière als profvoetballer gehad. Met AFC Ajax werd hij meerdere malen landskampioen en met AC Milan won hij onder andere de Wereldbeker en de Europacup. Ook werd hij met het Nederlands elftal in 1988 Europees kampioen. Na deze carrière begon hij een tijdje later, in 2001, als trainer bij Jong Ajax. Inmiddels heeft hij het Nederlands elftal, Ajax en momenteel SC Heerenveen onder zijn hoede gehad. Het shirt van SC Heerenveen is gesigneerd door Marco van Basten.

In honour of the Beatles, and Jonh Lennon in particular, the German manufacturer Hohner has released a premium version of their famous Hohner Marineband blues harp, the very blues harp that was stolen by John Lennon in 1960 when the Beatles visited the musicshop Bergmann at Arnhem, The Netherlands. This very harmonica was then used in many hits, including the famous “Love me do”.
