Current Key Issues Clean Power Plan Ozone 1-hour SO2 Asbestos
Our Mission: To protect and improve the health and environment of all Kansans
Clean Power Plan Final Rule was Issued August 3, 2015. 28 Kansas facilities impacted. Kansas must see a rate reduction from 2,319 lbs./Net
MWh in 2012 to 1,293 lbs./MWh by 2030. Staff are presently evaluating the final rule to
determine the best course of action.

Asbestos Asbestos program was brought back into the Bureau
of Air earlier this year. Manages the State program as well as NESHAP
requirements. Evaluation of funding strategies for the program is
underway.
