Meeting Minutes
May 16, 2016
In as much as our Secretary and Minute recorder
was unable to attend last month’s meeting, you’re
going to have to make do with my paltry recollec-
tions.
As I recall, the meeting started on time.
There was no Secretary’s report, and the Treasurers
report was filed in absentia: We are solvent, and all
the bills are paid.
By way of old and or new business:
It was learned that we will be using the same
lawn mowing service again this year.
For various and sundry reasons, the field will not
be rolled this year.
A suggestion was made that the group that runs
the Quad Races be made to pay for use of the field.
There was no 50/50 raffle as Doc was not feeling
well, and went home early.
The meeting was adjourned, and the Estate Sale/
Raffle put on by Ron McHale began. A lot of peo-
ple, including two new members bought, won, or
were given a lot of airplanes, and related equipment.

Editor’s Notes
What a month May had turned out to be. Our
snowbirds have made it back from Florida to see lots
of flying, a bit of excitement here or there, and a
bunch of crazy windy weather.
May seemed to pick up right where April had left
off, with lots of mishaps. I think Matt started it off
when, in a one in a million shot, a dandelion stalk
wedged itself between his stabilizer and elevator and
locked the elevator in the up position, Oops!
A day or two later, the Taube that I bought from
Ron decided to do itself in. While I was giving it
some up elevator to climb a bit during a turn, the ele-
vator just separated itself from the airplane, resulting
in the most amazing lawn dart imitation ever. Oops
A few minutes later Dennis Robbins Slo-Poke
zoomed a bit low, and had an aggressive meeting
with the ground. Oops
Just a few days ago my Extra 3.25 kinda spun in,
and re-arranged its entire nose section. Oops
And finally Ron Odom backed his car over his
really nice Super Skybolt. Oops, oops. oops.
As we all know it’s all part of the game. Goofy
hobby!
Did you know?
That CA hinges can get brittle and
break when they get old? Well hey
can! A little while after this happened
Ron McHale mentioned that this plane
had been sitting in his garage for about
fifteen years, That time definitely had
a deleterious effect on those hinges.
Oh well, live and learn!
A few days ago, Joe had the biggest
Cub at the field, that is until ---
Ron McHale arrived -
120+wingspan
Weighs 28 lbs
Ron’s comment : “cute cub Joe”
Don’t look now Joe, but I think your Cub just had a baby.
I hear Dennis has agreed to feed it and nurture it until it grows unto a real plane!
Here we go, proof positive that everyone crashes sooner or lat-er. Also proof posi-tive that some maneu-vers should probably be done a little higher off the ground
STUDENT NIGHT
Student night got under way this month with Mat as
Chief Instructor, and instructor Ron Odom assisting.
We’ve had several students interested so far this year,
and at least a couple more that may be starting next
week It’s good to see the interest ramping up

The first four of this month’s links are a compilation of shop tips. I always like to include some of these, because wheth-er you are a beginner old an old pro builder, you just might find something that will save you some time or make things a little easier. That will make it well worth the read. http://www.modelairplanenews.com/newsletter/?nid=242870 http://www.modelairplanenews.com/newsletter/?nid=223210 http://www.modelairplanenews.com/newsletter/?nid=244877 http://www.modelairplanenews.com/newsletter/?nid=208076 The next two links are in-shop how-to’s.
