    The main section o the Russky Island Bridgeis a 2-tower cable-stayed bridge, main span1104 m. This is the new world record amongcable-stayed bridges [3]; the previous recordbelonged to the Sutong Bridge in China,span 1088 m, dated 2008 [4]. There are ap-proach bridges at both ends o the cable-stayed bridge section o the Russky Bridge,as appears in the attached longitudinal pro-fle.

    The shape o the both slender concretetowers resembles a narrow-A, height 321m. This is the new world record among all

    bridge types [5]; the previous tower record306 m belonged to the aore mentioned Su-tong Bridge [4]. The tower wall thickness othe Russky Bridge tapers upwards, being 2,0m at base slab, 75 cm at top [5]. The towerlegs are connected by three transverse cross-beams, one under the deck, two betweenthe deck and the top.

    Along the main span, the bridge deckshape is a round-edged steel box girder, totalwidth 29,5 m, width between railings 26,0m, depth 3,2 m. The bridge accommodates4 trafc lanes 3,75 m, 2 lanes to each di-

    rection. The vertical clearance at main span isnotably high, 70 m. The cable stays are locat-ed at both edges o the bridge deck, shortest181 m, longest 578 m, the latter being long-est among all cable-stayed bridges [6].

    The client o the bridge is the FederalState Institution Directorate o the Feder-al Road Agency in Vladivostok, main con-tractor USK Most, consultant NPO Mosto-vik [6], the project supervisor being JSC In-stitute Stroiproject [1]. The bridge was builtduring 2008-2012, at a cost o 1 milliard dol-lars (USD) [7].

    Vladivostok town is situated in the Far East o Russia on the coast o thePacifc Ocean, near the border between Russia and North Korea, op-posite to Sapporo town in Japan. In Vladivostok, there is a great bridgeacross the Eastern Bosphorus Strait to the Russky Island, Re. [1-2].
