Upcoming Pastoral Council Elections – Call to Serve: We are preparing for our yearly Saint Bridget Pas-toral Council transition and are looking for Parish members who are interested in the opportunity to be involved in our Parish life by serving on our Saint Bridget Pastoral Council starting with the June 2015 term. Pastoral Council is made up of 12 members with rotating terms. Our Parish Council serves primarily in a supportive role to our Pastor, Monsignor Carr. We strive to promote the spiritual and temporal well being of our Parish mem-bers, to promote communication and coordination among various Parish groups and to assist in creating and furthering the goals and priorities of our vibrant parish. Cherishing Life at All Stages: End-of Life Issues for All Ages An In-depth Panel Discussion
Saint Bridget Catholic Church – April 28th – 6:00 p.m.
Please join us for an in-depth discussion of the moral and ethical challenges that can arise at the end of life, not only for ourselves, but when caring for loved ones.
What must be done for the terminally ill, including medication, hydration, and nutrition? Who may make these decisions on behalf of our loved ones at the end of life? What legal issues may arise and how should one prepare?
The discussion will be led by a panel that will offer their perspective on this important topic, and will allow time for questions from the audience.
Monsignor William H. Carr, Pastor of St. Bridget Catholic Church, Burke Balch, Lawyer and Director of the Robert Powell Center for Medical Ethics of the National Right to Life Committee and Sister Marie Kerns, Sister of Mercy and Director of Mission and Outreach at Bon Secours Health System.
The discussion will take place in the Parish Commons from 6:00- 7:30 p.m. Please plan to stay for light refreshments hosted by the Respect Life Committee.

Commonwealth Catholic Charities Special need for baby closet items: The CCC baby closet has been busy serving many clients and needs help replenishing several items! We are completely out of baby wipes, something we try to include in every donation. We have also run out of diapers size 4 through 6 as well as new or gently used clothes size 2T and 3T. If you have items that you would like to donate, please call (804) 545-5942 or bring them to 1601 Rolling Hills Drive in Richmond. Thank you!
Volunteers are needed for Call Reassurance for seniors: The Independence for Seniors program at CCC offers security and companionship to lonely and/or isolated old-er adults in our community. One way we do this is by making scheduled phone calls to offer a brief conversation and find out if other support is needed. Caring volunteers help us with this important service, making a big difference with a small act of compassion. If you would like more information on becoming a volunteer, please contact Diane at (804) 545-5916 or [email protected].
