Serving Nebraska Border to Border with Five Campus SitesThe profession of nursing offers rewarding careers for men and women at all levels of education preparation. UNMC College of Nursing offers educational programs at the bachelor’s level and above and is the only institution in the state of Nebraska that grants a PhD for nursing — Doctor of Philosophy.

Undergraduate — Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)• Traditional BSN: A 4-semester, on-campus program taught over 2 years with no

summer classes. Offered on all 5 campuses.

• Accelerated BSN: An intense 12 month, on-campus program for students with an existing bachelor’s degree.

• RN to BSN: An online advancement program for registered nurses with an Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN).

For all BSN programs, you must fi rst complete required prerequisite courses totaling 58 credits. Prerequisite courses are not offered by the College of Nursing. You may complete them through any University of Nebraska institution or from any accredited college. You then apply to be admitted to one of the BSN programs and once admitted you complete only nursing classroom and clinical coursework.

Take your nursing career to the next level! UNMC offers many educational options at the advanced level to prepare you to take leadership roles in research, education, practice and health policy and administration.

All programs have specifi c admissions criteria that include specifi c degrees and an active U.S. RN license.

Coursework is delivered in a hybrid format utilizing advanced web-based applications, including synchronous and asynchronous classes which allows you to complete the program from where you live with very limited campus-based time. Clinical requirements may be satisfi ed in your community or one nearby, using local preceptors. Research projects, if applicable to your course of study, may also be conducted locally.
