Award News

Project Completion

The client, Volgatechnool LLC, awarded RHI a contract for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation works for a sulfuric acid and improved oleum production plant project in Togliatti, Russia. The total capacity will be 500,000 tons per year.

Volgatechnool LLC is a subsidiary of KuibyshevAzot PJSC, one of the leading companies in the Russian chemical industry. This is our second cooperation with KuibyshevAzot.

RHI signed the contract on May 24, 2019.

RHI has achieved mechanical completion at the TouatGaz Central Processing Facility in Adrar, Algeria.

The mechanical completion certificate was signed in February 2019 by the EPC contractor, Tecnicas Reunidas.

Furthermore, temporary acceptance was confirmed with the signing of the provisional approval certificate.

RHI’s scope of work included steel structures, mechanical equipment, piping, and electrical and instrument assembly.

The project, which is an investment by Sonatrach and Engie E&P of France, is capable of producing 4.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year and 1,900 BD of condensate daily.

ZERGER GAS TURBINE POWER PLANT:- FIRST CONCRETE POUR In May 2019 the first cubic meter of concrete was poured into what will become the base of the Zerger Gas Turbine Power Plant in Charjev district, Lebap region, Turkmenistan. This was a major event at the construction site. Project Management said that it was a “significant milestone” in continuing the

successful start of works, and thanked the project team for their diligent efforts and support.

The output of the finished plant will be 432 MW (3×144 MW). The target completion date is August 2021.

- SUMITOMO CORPORATION DELEGATION VISITS THE SITEOn May 24, 2019 the Zerger Gas Turbine Power Plant Project, under construction in the Charjev district, Lebap region, Turkmenistan, welcomed the first visit of Mr. Nonaka Norihiko (Executive Officer) and Mr. Ohashi Daisuke (President and CEO) from our partnering company, Sumitomo Corporation.

Along with a second group of four personnel from Sumitomo Corporation, the day for our partners began with participation

in the Health Safety Environment (HSE) Induction Training, led by the RHI Safety team. Following this, Project Management updated the guests on the construction works, focusing on the core milestones of the project, and generally guided the team through the current status. The visit was concluded with a tour of the camp area.

After such a warm welcome and varied day, our guests left the site very contented.

GAS-TO-GASOLINE (GTG) PLANT: THE FIRST DROP OF GASOLINE IS PRODUCED

RHI PRESIDENT VISITS TURKMENISTAN

The consortium of RHI and Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd of Japan is pleased to announce that the GTG Plant in the Akhal Region of Turkmenistan has successfully operated its entire technical process: desulphurization, reforming synthesis, and fractionation. The first product drop of gasoline processed from natural gas was produced in May 2019.

Construction of the new GTG Plant began in May 2015. Its design capacity is 600,000 tons of high-quality gasoline per

year. In addition to the construction of the gasoline production facilities, the project scope included construction of a utility system and other units, including finished product storage, service buildings and amenities.

The GTG Plant is a huge and modern complex based on the certified technology of gas conversion and equipped with the latest advanced technological equipment. It has no equal in the world.

Mr. Alptekin Tizer’s visit to Turkmenistan began on May 15, 2019, with a visit to the GTG facility where he was informed of the progress towards project completion in general, and the commissioning of the plant in particular. During his inspection of the plant’s production facilities, Mr. Tizer warmly congratulated the GTG project staff on delivering the first drop of the product, which marked the achievement of the final goal of the project. Mr. Tizer stressed that the significant efforts of the GTG team played an important role in attaining this key stage of the project.

He then visited the construction site of a multi-profile hotel along with the Garagum business center. The site is located near the terminal of Ashgabat international airport.

Mr. Tizer was informed about the concept of the interior design of the hotel and the progress of work in general, which was presented to him in the format of an album of 3D images.

The last stage of Mr. Tizer’s trip to Turkmenistan was a visit to the construction of the second stage of the Nusai hotel. The project team informed him about the current construction works and acquainted him with the current project status. Mr. Tizer sincerely thanked the project staff for their dedicated efforts, and said he appreciated their commitment and hard work in achieving the project goal. As usual, Mr. Tizer stressed that compliance with health and safety standards in the workplace is a priority.

BUDAPEST, HUNGARY: PRC 2019 RHI became a Platinum Sponsor at the Petrochemical and Refining Congress (PRC) Europe 2019, held on May 20–21, 2019 in Budapest, Hungary.

This year’s Congress was hosted by MOL Group and there was a visit to one of its refineries, the Danube Refinery.

PRC Europe is an annual international downstream oil and gas event, which extends its coverage to Russia, the CIS, Europe, and other regions. Its focus is on industry leaders who are

upgrading their business models and switching to new technologies.

RHI Vice-President, Celal Toroglu, made a presentation on the “Organization and experience on construction of unique and giant petrochemical projects”.

LETTER OF THANKS FROM RUSSIA’S PRESIDENT MR. VLADIMIR PUTINThe president of RHI-Russia, Mustafa K. Ozakay, was rewarded with a letter of thanks from Russian President Vladimir Putin from the Kremlin in Moscow.

The letter of thanks includes the following words: “Thanks for the attained business achievements, active social activities and the years of hard work”.

The RHI family is proud to have received the honor of a letter of thanks from the President of Russia.

RUSSIA STATE AWARD TO NORILSK NICKEL BGOKRHI successfully completed the construction of the Norilsk Nickel Bystrinsky mining and beatification copper-iron-gold enrichment plant in 2017. Russian President Vladimir Putin has made an award to Norilsk Nickel’s top management and employees for the successful implementation of the project for the construction of BGOK. Russia’s minister of industry and trade, Denis Manturov, congratulated the company and its employees on behalf of the President of the country and presented state awards.

Bystrinsky GOK is one of the largest greenfield projects in Russia’s mining industry. It was built from scratch in an inaccessible part of the Trans-Baikal territory in just 3.5 years. Its key production processes are completely automated. The plant has been operating in commissioning mode since October 2017. The design capacity will be reached at the end of 2019.

QHSE – No Compromise

PROJECT BASED INCENTIVE PROGRAMIn all RHI projects, before the mobilization process is completed, Project Management and the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Department create a project-based Incentive Program. The Incentive Program is explained to employees during their orientation period.

RHI Project Management then distributes the awards by organizing a ceremony, with the participation of all employees. RHI Project Management and white collar personnel participate in these award ceremonies as spokespeople. Prior to the awards being made, Project Management communicates to all employees awareness-raising messages about HSE.

Audits were carried out at RHI’s Headquarters in Istanbul and at the Botaş Kuzey Marmara Underground Gas Storage Expansion Project site on April 3–5, 2019.

In this context, “recertification” for ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certificates, and “Inspection” for OHSAS 18001:2007 certificates, was completed.

Our certificates were renewed after RHI passed the audits.

Social LifeRÖNESANS HOLDING EMPLOYEES INVITED TO MEET FOR IFTARThe traditional iftar for Rönesans Holding employees was held at the Adile Sultan mansion this year.

Rönesans Holding employees who attended iftar, a traditional dinner during Ramadan month, had a pleasant time with a sense of unity and family, accompanied by music.

TRADITIONAL FOOTBALL MATCH AT GTG SITE PROJECT A friendly football match with our newly-arrived friends for the start-up activities at the GTG project was held on June 13, 2019, to foster the team spirit of Kawasaki Heavy Industries (our consortium partner at the project) and RHI. Our continuing partnership with KHI was reflected in the final score in the match, which was played with the participation of our vice president Kaan Alkan. The match ended in a draw. Afterwards, the teams met for dinner at the GTG camp facilities.
