MSc Project (Dissertation) was completed to fulfil

academic requirements in the final semester.

All the lecture classes and tutorial classes in 1st and 2nd

semester were taking place here. School of Engineering and

Energy Center were situated here before relocating to the

Riverside East Building in May 2013.

My Dissertation

Onshore Drilling Rig, Weatherford Training Centre, Aberdeen (2013)

All basic drilling systems (hoisting, rotating and circulating systems) including some major

equipment in drilling operations such as draw-works, crown block, traveling block, rotary table, drill

pipe, tongs, shale shakers and mud pumps were discussed on site.

Petroleum Geological Field Trip in Moray Firth, Scotland (2012)

The observation focused on various important factors such as rock properties (e.g. grain

roundness, net to gross ratio, sorting, porosity, permeability and etc.) including faults

and cementation from environment. All of these factors play a major role in indicating

the potential of the reservoir.

Postgraduate engineering students and a lecturer, Bryan Cronin had made personal

observation and interpretation of geological characteristics and structures at four different

areas (Covesea shore, Covesea cliff, Daisy Rock and Cove Bay)

cultures and working environment.
