My previous experience of serving this University in different roles was truly gratifying. Now since I am leading this University, I envisage a very positive and bright future filled with opportunities for all. We all must agree with the fact that students are a true lifeline for any educational system. I see University as a place that deems a fearless world of choices where learners can meet their expectations and realize their true potential with great hopes. Our focus shall be on making policies while placing students at the core and harnessing their true competencies through rightful knowledge, skills and opportunities. We shall strive not only for producing technocrats but with high skills and also with high values and character. is shall be achieved by education that is marked with true knowledge, creativity, innovation and soul. As they say, “When the root is deep, there is no reason to fear the wind.” I believe with these elements of rightful character our students shall survive all the odds that life might pose for them. Nothing can be achieved in isolation; it is our cumulative duties to create a fearless world of learning where we all can realize our true capacities to maximum. It is indeed a team-work. I see no difference in people irrespective of their positions. I believe any work no matter how big or small done with sincerity and with positive intent to serve the University at large shall be of true value. I encourage all members of this fraternity to see themselves as a part of one big family working days and nights with a common goal of achieving excellence. AT THE OUTSET, I like to congratulate the whole University fraternity for setting up a new benchmark by scoring grade ‘A’ in NAAC Accreditation – a well established signature of excellence in the world of academia. Though I am a new addition to this family, I always consider myself to be one amongst you. My previous experience of serving this University in different roles was truly gratifying. E-RICKSWAH NOW AT UNIVERSITY PREMISES

As a part of green campus initiative, University has taken a significant step by providing e-rickshaw facility within its premises to all campus visitors

and dwellers. The e-rickshaw facility for public usage was inaugurated at the auspicious hands of Hon’ble Chief Guest and Minister Technical Education & Skill Development, Madhya Pradesh, Shri Deepak Joshi Ji in the august presence of Vice Chancellor RGPV, Prof. Sunil Kumar, Registrar RGPV, Prof. S.K. Jain and faculty members and staff from various university departments. E-rickshaw facility is a battery operated, pollution free locomotion for ferrying students and visitors within the university premises.

VICE CHANCELLOR MEETS WITH HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR OF MADHYA PRADESH AND HON’BLE CHIEF MINISTER

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor RGPV Prof. Sunil Kumar along with Registrar RGPV, Prof. S.K. Jain paid a courtesy visit to his excellency, Governor of Madhya Pradesh and Chancellor RGPV, Shri Om Prakash Kohli Ji and Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan Ji soon after his appointment as a Vice Chancellor of RGPV.

ORIENTATION PROGRAM FOR NEWLY RECRUITED FACULTY ORGANIZED

A three-day orientation programme was organized by the University jointly with National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training & Research, Bhopal (NITTTR) from

24-07-2017 to 26-07-2017 at University Campus for newly recruited faculty in various university departments. A total of 140 faculty members from different teaching departments actively participated in this Short Term Training programme where challenges in Indian Education System, domain of learning and taxonomy, roles of technical teachers and overview of NBA accreditation were discussed. DELEGATES FROM GERMANY VISITED CAMPUSA team of German delegates comprising Mr. Christian Staab- Schmidt Managing Director; Mr. Mohammad Vaizullah, Sharieff, Regional Director, Lucas Nuelle Middle East visited University campus on 4-07-2017. During meeting with Vice Chancellor, RGPV these delegates discussed novel technologies used globally for improving technical education. INTERACTION MEET WITH PHD SCHOLARS ORGANIZEDVice Chancellor’s interaction meet with PhD scholars was organized on 27-07-2017 at university conference hall in order to discuss issues pertaining to PhD scholars. The meeting received a good response and many scholars attended and interacted with the Vice Chancellor. TWO WEEKS FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME ON ENTREPRENUERSHIP ORGANIZEDA two-week faculty development programme on Entrepreneurship was organized by University Institute of Technology (UIT) RGPV from 27-06-2017 to 08-07-2017. The programme was organized in collaboration with Technology Business Incubator- KIET and KIET Group of Institutions, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The inaugural ceremony took place in the gracious presence of Hon’ble Minister Technical Education and Skill Development, Shri Deepak Joshi Ji; Hon’ble Vice Chancellor RGPV, Prof. Sunil Kumar; Registrar RGPV, Prof. SK Jain; Director RGPV, Prof. RS Rajput; General Manager (TBI-KIET), Prof. Satendra Kumar

and Founder Vice Chancellor, Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar, Prof. (Dr.) SP Mishra. Director, UIT RGPV, Prof. (Dr.) R.S. Rajput was the Chief Coordinator for this programme. REFRESHER COURSE ON “CYBER SECURITY AND FORENSICS” ORGANIZEDFive-day Refresher course on “Cyber Security and Forensics” was organized by department of IT, UIT under Academic Staff

College RGPV (sponsored by TEQIP) from 25-29 July 2017. The workshop was inaugurated by Honorable Vice Chancellor, RGPV, Prof. Sunil Kumar in the presence of Director UIT RGPV, Prof. (Dr.) R.S. Rajput; Prof. in charge Academic Staff College Prof. Seema Saxena; and Head of IT Department, Dr. Roopam Gupta and faculty members. The technical sessions were taken by experts, Dr. G. Ramamurthy, IIIT Hyderabad; Mr. Sudeep Goenka, AIG cyber cell Indore; Dr. Nishchol Mishra, Prof. RGPV Bhopal; Dr. Pratosh Bansal, IET, DAVV Indore; Mr. Rahul Mishra, Advisor Uttar Pradesh police; Dr. Atul Pandey, NLUI Bhopal; Dr. Deepak Tomar, Prof. MANIT Bhopal and Mr. Jitendra Singh, Cyber cell Indore which was attended by faculties from Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Vidisha.

VISIT TO GUJARAT TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY AHMADABAD

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor RGPV, Prof. Sunil Kumar and Controller Examination RGPV Prof. A.K. Singh visited Gujarat Technical University, Ahmadabad to review

examination automation system. GTU is a leading University to implement encrypted examination paper delivery system and using mobile SMS for decryption. The team has reviewed Automation of pre-examination activities , IT based bar-coded automated systems for post exam management, On-line result declaration with dynamic result analysis etc. as a part of value addition process. The team was well greeted by the Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Navin Sheth of Gujarat Technical University. FORMER CRICKETER KRISHNAMACHARI SRIKKANTH VISITED RGPV

Former skipper, Indian Cricket Team, Krishnamachari Srikkanth visited the university campus on 3-7-2017. During visit, Shri Srikkanth visited the University Sports

Complex which is under construction and appreciated its design. He further interacted with University students and motivated them to excel in their career while practicing true sportsman spirit. Mr. Srikkanth was in the town to represent foundation laying ceremony of a global skill park by Hon’ble Chief Minister, Madhya Pradesh, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan Ji for providing world-class training facility in Madhya Pradesh.

•University has for the first time conceptualized awards for the best performing employee and most useful activity based on the recommendations by heads of various departments and finalization of scrutiny committee. Awards will be declared by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor on 71st Independence Day celebration at the University.
