    To a Worldchanger

IF GOD HAS CALLED YOU, DONT SPEND TIME LOOKING OVER YOUR SHOULDER TO SEE WHO IS FOLLOWING.

The final estimate of men showsthat history cares not an iota forthe rank or title a man has borne,or the office he has held, but onlythe quality of his deeds and thecharacter of his mind and heart.

You have to have convictionor you cant live! And then youhave to do something about your

conviction, or you cant stand tolive with yourself!David Brandt Berg

It is so easy to make excuseslegitimate, logical, reasonable, acceptable excuseswhy youcant make it, why you shouldnt

be expected to make it. And inmost cases most people willaccept your excuses, because they

dont have the faith either andin excusing you theyre excusingthemselves. But is God going toexcuse you?David Brandt Berg

Florence Nightingale, who leftwealth and comfort for poverty,

war, and disease tonurse the sick, wrotein her diary: I amthirty years of age, the

age at which Christbegan His mission. Now no more childishthings, no more vainthings. Now, Lord, let me think only ofThy will. Years later, near the end of herillustrious, heroic life, she was asked forher lifes secret, andshe replied: Well,

I can only give oneexplanation. That is, Ihave kept nothing backfrom God.

John and Betty Stamm, missionaries in China, weremartyred December 8, 1934. OnDecember 6, John Stamm wrote,My wife, baby and myself aretoday in the hands of Communists. All our possessions and stores theyhave taken, but we praise Godfor peace in our hearts and a mealtonight. God grant you wisdom

in what you do and us fortitude, courage and peace of heart. He isable, and a wonderful Friend insuch a time. And in closing hesaid, The Lord bless and guideyou, and as for us, may God beglorified, whether by life or death.

You cannot stop the man offaith! You cannot dissuade him!You cannot divert him! Hell go

on, with or without you, or rightover you, if necessary!

Its better to die for somethingthan to live for nothing.

A classic in the annals of theU.S. Coast Guard is the storyof Captain Pat Etheridge of the

Cape Batterne station. One nightin the howling hurricane, thelookout saw a distress signal froma ship that had gone aground onthe dangerous Diamond Shoals, ten miles at sea. The lifeboats wereordered out. One of the lifeguardsprotested, Captain Pat, we canget out there, but we can never get

back.Responding to the call of duty,

the captain gave the reply that hasgone down in history: Boys, wedont have to come back.

The Lord has given usour marching orders. He has

    Dare to Be Different

Dare to be different. Life is so fullOf people who follow the same push-and-pull.

Poor, plodding people who, other than name,

Try to pretend theyre exactly the same.

God made men different; there never will be

A replica soul made of you or of me.

The charmthe glory of all creation

    Rests on this very deviation.

    Your charmyour own glory, too,

    Lies in being uniquely you

Lies in being true to your best,That part of you different from all of the rest.

    Helen Marshall

To deny self is to become anonconformist. The Bibletells us not to be conformed tothis world either physically orintellectually or spiritually.

    Billy Graham

A young man came to DwightL. Moody, the famous Americanevangelist, and said, Mr. Moody,

I want to be a Christian, but mustI give up the world?Moody characteristically

replied, Young man, if you livethe out-and-out Christian life, theworld will soon giveyou up.

Be not conformed to thisworld; but be ye transformed bythe renewing of your mind, thatye may prove what is that good,

and acceptable, and perfect will ofGod (Romans 12:2).

One of the outstanding ironiesof history is the utter disregardof ranks and titles in the final

judgments men pass on each other.

commanded that the Gospel bepreached in all the world. He hasnot promised His messengers aneasy time. He has not given theassurance of a safe return to thehome base, but He did say, Go!

David Livingstone, the greatmissionary and explorer, saidof his life: People talk of thesacrifice I have made in spendingso much of my life in Africa. Canthat which is simply paid backas a small part of a great debtwe owe to our God be called asacrifice? Is that a sacrifice which

brings its own best reward inhealthful activity, the knowledgethat one is doing good, peaceof mind, and a bright hope of aglorious destiny hereafter?

It is emphatically no sacrifice.Say, rather, it is aprivilege. Anxiety, sickness, suffering, or dangernow and then, with less of thecommon conveniences of this life, may make us pause and cause

the spirit to waver and the soulto sink, but let this be only for amoment.

All these are nothing whencompared with the glory whichshall be revealed in and for us.I never made a sacrifice! Weought not to talk of this when weremember the great sacrifice made

by Him who left His Fathersthrone on high to give Himself tous.

Be strong! We are not here to play, to dream,

to drift; We have hard work to do, and

    loads to lift.

Shun not the struggle; face it.Tis Gods gift.

Be strong!Say not the days are evil, whos to blame? And fold the hands and acquiesceO shame!

Stand up, speak out, and bravely,In Gods name.

Be strong! It matters not how deep entrenched the wrong,How hard the battle goes, the day how long,Faint not, fight on!Tomorrow comes the song.

Be a Fighter!Comments by David Brandt Berg

May God give us fighters who like to fight for the Lord withthe weapon of His Word and who enjoy defeating evil and whoknow they cant lose and who like to win victories! Conqueringheroes that like to live and fight and die for Jesus and their

    brethren and the Truth!

Theres no crown without a cross, no testimony without atest, no triumph without a trial, no victory without a battle, norose without a thorn! Thats what you joined the Lords army for:

to fight and to win! Lets get on with the Lords battle!

We may not win all the battles, but were going to win thewar!

Keep on holding on to Gods promises!Dont let go! Keepon standing on the Word!Dont get off! Keep on going for

Jesus!Dont stop! Keep on keeping on!

Anything can happen in that little margin of time when youdo not give up, but keep on believing and keep on praying!

We cant lose! The victory is already ours! Just keep fightinguntil we get there! If you keep fighting, you cant lose! Keepresisting the Devil, keep raising up the standard of the Spirit, keep wielding the weapon of the Word, and you cannot lose ifyou keep fighting! Fight the good fight of faith! (See 1 Timothy6:12; Jude 3; 2 Timothy 2:3; 4:7; Ephesians 6:1317.)
