Registration Process

The course is funded and approved by AICTE hence,registration fees is not required for the faculties fromAICTE approved institutions. Maximum thirty participantscan be registered for the course on first come first serve ba-sis. Application form in prescribed format should reach togiven address and mail soft copy to [email protected] or before 25th April 2015. Selection of participantswill be sole authority of the organizing committee. Out-station participants may be paid second class sleeper trainfare/economy bus fare as per norms.

The R. C. Patel Institute of Technology (RCPIT) is rec-ognized as one of the centers of academic excellence in theNorth Maharashtra University. Over the years, there hasbeen dynamic progress at RCPIT Shirpur in all academicand research activities, and a parallel improvement in fa-cilities and infrastructure, to keep it on par with the bestinstitutions in the country.

The institute is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and isaffiliated to North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon whichhas been Re-Accredited ‘B’ (CGPA 2.88) status by NAAC,Bangalore. The institute has been accorded a status of Mi-nority (Gujarathi Linguistic) by the Govt. of Maharash-tra. The institute has Research Labs for Ph.D. students ap-proved by NMU, Jalgaon.

About Department

The department offers graduate and post graduatecourse for Electronic and Telecommunications Engineer-ing. The teachers of the department are post graduate andcontinuously encouraged and promoted for research activ-ity. The department has tradition of excellent university re-sults.

About the Course

In recent years, there are many advances in the fieldof Microwave Engineering and its applications in civil-ian, military, medical and remote sensing areas. Wirelesscommunication is a major area where microwaves are usedto connect people around the globe. Certain frequencieshave been exclusively allocated for industrial, scientific andmedical applications where new microwave devices suit-able for these applications are developed. Navigation is an-other prominent area, where microwave navigation systemsare used for position detection. New antennas such as Vi-valdi, Fractal, Plasma, metamaterials, DRA’s etc. have beendesigned and developed suitable for latest high speed, highdata rate applications ranging up to 40GHz.

In this Faculty Development Programme (FDP) all theabove issues and latest developments will be discussed byeminent persons from academia and research organizations.

This FDP is organized to discuss the latest develop-ments of Microwave Engineering and issues related to var-ious bands and their applications. The design challengesof Microwave Integrated Circuits (MICs), Microwave an-tennas and their applications will be addressed. Role ofmicrowaves in the treatment of human diseases, microwaveremote sensing, surveillance and monitoring radars are theother areas of discussion.

Course Content

Programme will cover fundamentals, analysis, designalong with hands on experience and applications of vari-ous microwave devices and circuits. Design and analysis ofmodern antennas used in microwave communication. Re-cent developments in the field of microwave communica-tions viz. planar microstrip antennas,Microwave Filters andRF-passive component design.

Course Faculty

The resource persons for the program shall include ex-perts from prestigious institutes. Alongwith demonstrationof latest softwares , fabrication and characterization toolsfrom reputed companies will also be available.
