Block Diagram of Process

Basically attendance is manually done and record is maintained in files. Our main idea of

approach is to reduce manual work and to automate the attendance system. It is a microcontroller

based application consisting of mainly RF ID module, LCD and various other features such as

database maintenance in computer. As soon as the RF ID is given to the scanner, it cross checks

it with the stored database and judgment is done by the module itself and result is sent to the

microcontroller which then displays the result on the LCD screen and simultaneously updates the

record maintained in the computer.

RF ID module is the input device and microcontroller as main processing unit. Output devices

are LCD and computer. Input is given through the RF ID module, input here is RF ID card to the

module, module converts it into digital data and sends it to host. Add, delete and acknowledge

are the three commands which can be given to the module. Module responds to host accordingly,

microcontroller on the either side would be interfaced with the computer. Database is maintained

in the computer which is altered and updated by microcontroller.

Microcontroller used is Atmel 89S52, it is a low power high performance CMOS 8 bit

microcontroller with 8K bytes of flash programmable and erasable read only memory

(EEPROM).This is powerful microcontroller which provides a high flexible and cost effective

solution to many embedded control applications.

The components used are:

1. Atmel 89S52 microcontroller.

2. LCD 16x2 (16 pins).

3. RF ID module.

4. MAX 232 (line driver)

6. Crystal oscillator (11.0592 MHz).

7. Regulator IC 7805.

8. Diodes.

9. Resistors.

SCOPE OF FURTHER WORK

This system has a major application in security system which can be

Bank lockers:-here it is implemented for only single user for respective locker, such that

his/her impression is taken in the database and system responds only if right match found.

VIP areas where on limited and authorized persons are allowed as such in R&D research.

In industries where time entrance plays a vital role thus another attendance system in

industries so that overall database of a respective a can be taken at the end of the month

for further manipulations.

As a security system in cars for ignition as only the car owner is authenticated no one else

can use it.
