A bimonthly publication of First Baptist Church of Gaston
March/April, 2019 Vol. 45 Issue 2
S pring is right around the corner and we have much to celebrate… we will be in revival March 17-20 and then Easter is in April. Our children will be singing April 14th at the 6:00 PM service
and our adults will be doing their Easter Cantata on April 21st during the morning service.
We are excited about Easter Sunday and have made a few changes to the schedule..
We will begin the day at 7:00 AM with a Resurrection Service in the sanctuary… and then we will have our breakfast at 8:00 AM in the fellowship hall. We will go right from there to Sunday School at 9:00 AM and then have our Worship Service at 10:00 AM!! There will be no evening service.
As the weather gets a little warmer and the days get a little longer, let’s be sure to remember our Creator who provided this beautiful creation for us to enjoy.
Joyfully Serving, Sherrell
REVIVE US LORD!
“Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?” (Psalm 85:6)
Revival services are scheduled for March 17th - 20th. Rev. Keith Kelly, pastor of His Vineyard Church in Greer, S. C. will bring the messages. Nursery and children’s ministry will be provided. I believe God will use these meetings to renew and grow our Faith.
It has been several years since our last revival emphasis. It is time to seek a fresh move of God in our lives! Make plans to attend and pray for these services. You will be glad you did!
Blessings! Pastor Rex
Rev. Rex D. Simmons, Pastor
GUEST SPEAKER: REV. KEITH KELLY Keith Kelly is the founding and Senior Pastor of His Vineyard Church in Greer, SC.
He and his wife have 3 adult sons, two of whom are married. They also have one grandson.
Keith Kelly strongly believes that Biblical preaching still gets the job done for Jesus! He just simply desires to be known as Baptist preacher who believes and preaches all of the Bible.

He is not here: for He is
risen, as he said. Come,
see the place where the
LORD lay. Matthew 28:6 2019
BILLY HODGES IN CONCERT APRIL 7 AT 6 PM In 1995 my career in Southern Gospel Music began in Pensacola Florida with the Florida Boys. I have also ministered with the Dixie Echoes and the Kingdom Heirs. In 2012, God called me out to travel, worship, and minister through song where ever I was invited. Since then I have been so blessed to have sung in hundreds of different churches. My signature song "Anchor of Hope" was nominated as Song of the Year in 2006. Awards are wonderful to have, but personally what means the most is when I see someone walk the aisle and kneel at the alter. After all, it’s not about me. It's all about Jesus. I hope and pray that where ever you are in your walk with Jesus, you understand that HE loves YOU. You are pre-cious to HIM. Blessings, —Billy Hodges

To all our seniors who are not attending, you are missing a great time of food and fellowship. Spring begins in March and this would be a great time for you to begin attending. See you there!!!
S pring is here and many mission opportunities exist. First, I want to congratulate MARIAH BOZARD on being selected to participate in the SC Baptist Convention Collegiate Summer Missions program and is the first from our
church to ever be selected. Mariah will be going to Malaysia in June. I'm requesting you to keep Mariah in your prayers as she prepares for this mission trip. We will be doing some fund raisers to help with her expenses during the upcoming months.
This may seem early but we are preparing for our Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child shoe box collection. Our goal this year is 200 boxes. We will be collecting different items each month and will have more information in the bul-letin.

S everal months ago a church member asked if I could obtain a copy of a book entitled Joni. I was intrigued
by this real-life story of a young woman who becomes paralyzed as a teenager in a diving accident and eventually becomes an artist who spreads the word of God. The story is a true story of Joni Eareckson Tada’s struggles physical-ly, mentally and spiritually. Even when she is supported by the Chris-tian friends around her, she loses faith and transitions through grief, hope and questioning God. Joni writes honestly about her fight to find peace
and discover God's purpose for her life. After two failed relationships with boyfriends, Joni finds real love and marriage. A good read!!
