THE summer heat’s effects are felt by everyone undoubtedly. We are afflicted by the scorching rays of the sun and are irritated by the

searing warmth of the breeze. Amidst this uncomfortable hot situation is the call for us, Christians, to remain fiery in our spiritual lives. Let us keep on being revived as we refresh ourselves daily with God’s power through our close and sweet fellowship with Him. Let our thirst be quenched with full satisfaction by His invigorating Word. Let us not allow our souls to be dehydrated by worldly concerns. Let us not permit our spirits to experience a dry spell because of prayerlessness and disobedience to His commands.

We can turn this summer heat into a productive summer season by involving in our Church activities. We can become more fervent in praying, in Bible reading, in giving, in winning souls, in inviting people to our church services, in fetching visitors, in discipling, in singing heavenly songs, and in ministering to others. What else? We can join in our Daily Vacation Bible School (DVBS) endeavors and take part in our National Baptist Youth Conference (NBYC) projects.

There are more that we can do. In fact, the success of the feeding program that we had last week is a proof of involvement. Likewise, the victory of the Taiwan Outreach-Anniversary speaks of members’ participation. Let us keep on being a part of the Lord’s work with joy in our hearts … all for His glory and honor.

A. There are three outward aspects of the fruit of the Spirit—longsuffering, gentleness, and goodness.

B. These virtues ought to be nurtured and manifested by genuine Christians.

III. Promoting spirituality in the Church is through the Spirit’s counsel for the believer’s upward longings.

A. There are three upward aspects of the fruit of the Spirit—faith, meekness, and temperance.

B. These attributes must be sought for effective service.

Here are my hands, LORD, grateful for Your endowed usefulnessAnoint them to praise Your Godhead’s gloriousnessNever let them dishonor Your name’s greatnessDirect them to express Your loving kindnessSo as to show to others Your redemption’s joyfulness.

Here are my hands, LORD, blessed by Your gracious provisionAppoint them to demonstrate Your care and compassionNever let them forsake Your embrace of satisfactionDrive them to share Your Gospel’s assurance of salvationSo as to point to the lost Your way to heaven’s mansion.

Here are my hands, LORD, privileged to be in Your perfect willAssign them to do Your entrusted role for them to fulfillNever let them disregard Your cross on Calvary’s hillDiscipline them to sacrifice, and in Your ministry, be stillSo as to lead the sin-captives to Your ransom’s liberty-bill.

Here are my hands, LORD, surrendered to Your marvelous workmanshipAllow them to labor thru Your stewardship-leadershipNever let them be slothful in soulwinning and worshipDivert them from vain clasps of earthly partnershipSo as to guide the hopeless to Your comfort’s fellowship.

Here are my hands, LORD, receiving Your divine wisdomAdmonish them to seek first constantly Your precious kingdomNever let them sway toward selfishness, despising biblical martyrdomDeliver them from worldly concerns and spiritual boredomSo as to serve You well with Your sanctification’s freedom.

Here are my hands, LORD, yielded to Your delightful wishesAccept them with my offerings based on what Your bounty furnishesNever let them indulge in carnality’s delectable dishesDare them to pray thru Your power that always refreshesSo as to please You with overcoming faith thru Your mercy’s pushes.

The Sunday school is the most powerful education ministry in the church. It is an exciting and effective ministry of bringing children into the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and preparing them to serve the Lord. This ministry carries out the Great Commission, teaches God’s Word systematically and leads to growth and maturity.

Our Church has opened its door for children through the Sunday School ministry during the first ever service in 1978. Since then, it has grown and in 1990, it has been organized into divided classed for Junior, Primary, Kindergarten, Nursery, and Cradle roll. Over the years, students grow in number and in knowledge of the Lord. On our 31st Anniversary, some of our students invited and assisted visitors because they were taught the importance of bringing souls to Christ. We thank our Pastor, Dr. Ed Laurena for emphasizing that the children of today are not just future leaders but they are part of our church. With this, different Sunday school department students are given the privilege to render a special number during Sunday morning service. There are also scheduled special numbers for primary and junior choir during Sunday afternoon services.

Through this ministry, teachers are equipped to become more effective in teaching the next generation with their Wednesday department meetings and scheduled training programs. They are trained and assisted to make lesson plans for their Sunday School classes. They meet every Saturday for Sabbath School to listen to the Sunday School lesson and to pray for their classes and students.

Today, we have an average of 850-900 students every Sunday. Since the number of students is growing, we need more committed and volunteer teachers. We also encourage the parents to bring their children to our Sunday school and to support the Sunday School children’s ministry.

Sunday School MinistryChildren’s Department

This soulwinning arm of our church was born from the efforts of BAPSECOM’s (Baptist Security Command) Moral Recovery Program in school campuses. As schools became more open for the Gospel this past two years, classroom soulwinning workers became a greater need. Soon Area workers began to involve in evangelizing schools within their respective vicinities. Also, the Department of Education’s local offices provided permits for our church to capture public school classrooms. And with this, “Classroom Evangelism Ministry” was established as an Area responsibility.

This ministry is one of the primary means for establishing future Campus Ministries. Furthermore, this ministry has been useful in bringing First Time Visitors not only during Church Anniversaries but also on regular Sunday services. As of now we have a number of participating schools:

- Kapayapaan National High School (Area 30)- Southville 1 National High School (Area 34)- Sampaguita National High School (Area 21)

- Biñan National High School (Area 23) - General Vito Belarmino National High School (Area 10) We encourage every members to get involved in this effort through the Area ministry.

School Campuses are now a great harvest field for the Gospel but laborers are still few. Our church is looking forward to open more of this ministry.

nalibing at nabuhay namagmuli. Roma 10:9-104. Sa pamamagitan ng panalangin, tanggapin mo si Hesus sa

iyong puso bilang iyong Tagapagligtas. Roma 10:13
