CONTO SOCIAL
Uma questão de cor
Autor: Rafaela Cury Silveira 9º. C
– Certo.
O rapaz sai.
– E onde seria o meu lugar, senhor?
chamar a polícia?
favor. Perdi a fome.
WORLD ISSUES
Child labor
Text by: Nicole Key Dias
Child labor is very common around the world, factories use underage children to
work, because it’s cheap, and they don’t have any idea about it.
Usually poor families are big, and a majority are children so they are put in work very
early to keep the house with food on the table.
In Brazil for an example are many people, and most of them are poor. Generally the
kids work on plantations with their parents, the same scene happen on Africa but they
work on the factories too.
The big company power like Apple use children to work in their factories, surprised?
Yes, according with an British magazine, children with 15 years old were discovered
to be working last year in three factories which supply Apple. But we keep buying
their products, how to stop buying a cool Iphone right?
Considering the rights of the child, none of them are respected all around the world.
Some nations still don’t have laws to protect the child, but if they had it, people won’t
respect, because it’s all about the money, not to rights.
In countries, like Brazil and Africa, and around the world too, they have to increase
the campaign about the rights of the child, because the most important rights are
based on healthy and education like these:
- The children have a right to a special protection and good food, housing and
medical services.
- The children have the right to go school free, to play and to have an equal chance to
develop their selves and to learn to be responsible and useful. Their parents have a
special responsibility for their education and guidance.
They need that to their future, to get jobs, have a family, a dignity life, and a happy
childhood. No work, no pain, just a healthy life, like every child have to have.
To stop child labor we need buy products with the green tag, because these are
produced by factories that don’t use children to work in. If we buy products with the
green tag we’ll increase that people don’t buy products produced by children, and the
factories will stop to use children to work in their factories, stopping the child labor,
giving to them a childhood, their rights, and a better world.
So if we do this we can stop child labor, children deserve a happy life, a healthy life,
they deserve a childhood. Let’s think about these children, they need a help.
WORLD ISSUES
Child labor: a global problem
Giovanna Salgado – 9o C
As we know, there are many rights to protect children. The Declaration of the Rights
of the Child exists for this cause, but also these rights are not followed.
Children work to give money for their parents around the world, including Brazil.
They are forced to work in hard, often dangerous jobs. They work in mines,
plantations, municipal dumps picking over trash and factories. Some are abused,
trafficked and exposed to danger.
Big trend marks like Apple, Adidas and Nike also use child labor, but they say they
don’t know about this fact, obviously. Most of their suppliers have factories in China,
because there are many people in poor life conditions that need a job, no matter what
kind of job and they work for cheap.
But what is the most important help we can do to these
kids? We must press the Government to search and punish
these factories, and invest in poor regions of the city. But
the most important help we can give is stop buying
products from trends that use child labor. So, this will slow
down the production, which will lead to the conclusion that
they do not need more of the children in their factories.
So, in my opinion, we need to mobilize the population that this problem is in front of
us on a daily basis and we pretend that we aren’t seeing it. And we need to stop being
silly and help people that suffer with these problems. We must denounce these
factories that abuse of children and teenagers. They work in poor conditions and they
mustn’t work. They need to be at school, studying, having fun and playing with their
friends.
CYBER TIPS
Do you use Internet? Have you ever heard about the word “Netiquette”?
Netiquette is the word that describes some rules we have to follow when using different social media. Sometimes, when blogging or chatting, it is easy to forget that we’re actually talking to another person, since the only thing we see is our
computer screen.
In this section, you will read a little about what is netiquette, why it is important and above all, you will learn some tips to avoid embarrassing situations online. We hope
you enjoy it!
Netiquette and bad netiquette
What is it?
Netiquette is the group of rules and good manners that we have to use on the internet. Some tips to have a good netiquette are:
Don’t spam your friends.
Don’t use your real name in chat rooms, always use a nickname.
Delete e-mails from strange people.
Don’t play violent games.
Change your password regularly.
Don’t write in all caps.
Don’t use slang when you’re talking to adults.
Don’t install programs from sites you don’t know.
Respect different likes.
Always ask people before giving out their personal info.
The importance of netiquette is that with it, we can learn how to be polite on the internet and in the “real world”. Besides good netiquette, we also have the bad netiquette. Bad netiquette is the group of bad manners, that we don’t have to use on the internet. It’s the opposite of all we talked about. Now, use all our tips and have fun! (Isis e Rodrigo B.)

REMARKABLE MOMENTS
In our lives, there are things that are considered to be sad and embarrassing at first sight, but turn to be curious, funny or even special after some time. When we tell our
friends stories about these events, we usually tell them an anecdote.
Thus, an anecdote is a textual genre in which there may be embarrassing, funny, curious, special or even tragic facts. 8th graders from Consa have written stories that
were remarkable for their lives.
Enjoy reading some of them in this section!

Hi! My name is Gabriela, I remember a
“great time” I had with a guy, that I crashed on
me…A LOT!! He was handsome, tall, strong and
smart.
It was Saturday, February 11th, two days
before my birthday! He invited me to go to the
cinema, so I said YES! He picked me up at
4:30pm in my house and we went to the
shopping mall to watch a movie, it was really
great!!
But when he brought me home, I called
him to come in for a second. I grabbed a drink and talked about myself, about my
life…so did he!
When we entered the house, I saw a person on the living room, I was without
my glasses, and I was kind of blind, so I said:
-Hey, look my mom, right there!
And then he said:
-Oh Gabriela, your mom has a huge mustache!

It was a beautiful day, the day of the final match. I woke up early because I
was very nervous, and we needed to win. We didn´t win a championship for a long
time, so we had a lot of pressure in our back.
We went to the club, and we dressed up for the game. It was the first time that
we were with all our fans at the stadium so we had even more pressure.
The game started, everybody was worried. After five minutes, we were losing
the game and our opponents scored a goal.
Ten minutes were left for the end of the game and I caught the ball, dribbled 3
markers and made a perfect pass to Fabio; he came face to face with the goalkeeper
and kicked the ball. The fans made silence for three seconds… It was a goal,
everyone shouted. We were even when the player caught the ball and he suffered a
penalty.
I caught the ball and I took it to score the next goal. I was ready to kick but the
referee whistled. When I was running to kick the ball, I slipped … NO! I
COULDN´T BELIEVE I MISSED THE CHANCE!
NARRATIVA DE AVENTURA
As Aventuras de Lucas e Jack
Autor: Daniel Castilho 6ºA
A .38
Autor: Gabriel Amorim 8º A
começou a tocar:
– disse a voz
desesperadamente.
- Ir para onde senhora?
- Avenida 80, prédio 100, trigésimo oitavo andar... – neste momento sua voz
travou.
– Referi-me ao policial.
– respondeu-me.
- Minha filhinha, ele matou minha filinha!
- Alguma coisa suspeita? – questionou-me o policial.
No local do assassinato, comecei a procura. Primeiramente, encontrei a arma
Enviei as evidências à perícia.
arrombamento, então o assassino deveria conhecer a vítima.
Judite, Vergil.
- O senhor aceita um chá? – perguntou-me sua bondosa esposa.
esquerdo e lojas do lado direito.
– perguntei.
Pelo simples prazer de matar!
