We listened, and this is what we heard!
There are too many standards to score each grading period.
There are too many pages to manipulate.
Straddling two unit scoring guides per report card period is challenging.
Some standards are too difficult to score.
So this is what we did…
We distributed the standards more appropriately to streamline the scoring
process.
We reduced the number of papers.
Grade Level Unit Scoring Guides
Quarterly Scoring Guides

We created quarterly scoring guides to match the reporting periods.

Quarterly Scoring Guides
The unit pacing guides would look the same for units 1, 3, 4 and 6.
Units 2 and 5 would have standards scored on two different scoring guides.

Other Changes
All three writing standards are included each quarter, giving you the flexibility to score more than just the
unit focus standards.
Reading standards 10 are no longer scored in isolation.(They encompass reading standards 1-9.)
R.10 Read and comprehend complex literary and informational texts independently and proficiently.
