Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time Lord, forgive the wrong I have done.
Psalm 32
THE THEME OF THE LITURGY: Today’s psalm reinforces for us the necessity of recognizing our own guilt and confessing it before the Lord. God becomes our shelter,
and gives us back our freedom.
First Reading: 2 Samuel 12:7-10, 13 The Lord forgives David for taking the wife of Uriah, and for having Uriah killed. Second Reading: Galatians 2:16, 19-21 If justification comes through the law, then Christ died for nothing. Gospel: Luke 7:36—8:3 Jesus forgives the woman because of her great love.

See you there!
Dear Friends,
I am happy to announce that Father David Schunk will be spending the summer months with us after he is ordained a priest
in late June. I have known Father David and his family since my days in Novato, nearly 10 years ago. He was the Choir Direc-
tor at St. Anthony’s for a couple of years, taught school for another year, and then went to St. Patrick’s Seminary in Menlo Park.
After his first year at St. Pat’s, he was asked by Archbishop, now Cardinal Levada, to continue his priestly studies at North American College in Rome. I am very happy for the parish to be getting such a fine young man as Father David Schunk. It also
speaks well of the parish that Father David’s first priestly assignment is with us. Father David begins his assignment July 1st.
Welcome, Father David, and may the good people of Mater Dolorosa be as kind to you as they were to me during these past 5
years.
Until further notice, the only time the parish hall will be loaned out is for active, registered parishioner’s funeral receptions. I
have made two exceptions to this rule, during these past 5 years, and both times it has come back to bite me. If I lend it out to
one person, then everyone else wants to use it for private parties. In addition, the legal department of the Archdiocese, because
of liability issues, discourages us from using the hall for non-parish events. I hope you understand the reasons for making this
decision. We have a beautiful hall and I would like to keep it that way.
Have a great week!
Father Brian
