We are K2 Associates. Our vision is to engage, educate and empower organisations to lead their people to better mental health, via our Unmasking Psychology program.

Organisations are learning that well-being is good for business and that healthy people are happier, more engaged, more productive and less likely to leave.

Mental health training for managers and employees to provide and enhance skills is a key component for creating a safe, healthy workplace where the mental and physical health of employees are valued equally. Training gives people tools to support their own mental health and that of their colleagues, and can help encourage people to seek and access support.

However training is just one part of the puzzle, as each organisation’s culture is different. For increased effectiveness and to have a sustainable impact, there needs to be a wider organisational strategic approach to mental health and well-being.

Most organisations are implementing mental health training without an understanding of the leading recommendations on why this is needed and without a wider strategy.

That is why you also need to develop and enhance your overall strategy to help your employees thrive and in turn, your business succeed.

Various guidelines exist, with a government report recommending 6 core standards relating to workplace mental health.

It is these standards and associated research that has prompted organisations to start mental health training, but this only covers core standards 2 and 3 – what about the others?

What is the legislation for Mental Health First Aid?

Legislation for Mental Health First Aid provision in the workplace is not yet in place. The Health and

Safety Executive says:

“You should consider ways to manage mental ill health in your workplace which are appropriate for

your business, such as providing information or training for managers and employees, employing

occupational health professionals,appointing mental health trained support programmes.”

Your mental health policy is the foundation to a healthy workplace.

TRAINING COURSES

Training is the foundation to a healthy workplace. Educating people about mental health helps to open up conversations, breaks down stigma and encourages mental health resilience. It can also ensure people are aware of how to access help, allowing for quicker recoveries and more positive outcomes.

Our courses are delivered online or on-site at your workplace, by a Member of the British Psychological Society. Our trainers have been recruited due to their psychological and mental health knowledge, diverse backgrounds and experience and their ability to engage, educate and empower attendees.

Your employees will gain:

• An in depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect well-being • Practical skills to spot thetrigger and sign of a range of mental health issues.
