All through the Old Testament, Almighty God revealed andunveiledHimselfastheGodwhoismorethanenough.

He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He said toAbraham, "thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is nottheirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them fourhundredyears;Andalsothatnation, whomtheyshallserve, willI judge: and afterward shall they come out with greatsubstance"(Gen.15:13,14).

When the Egyptian army attempted to follow, they weredrownedinthedepthsofthesea.

Amodernisticpreacherwrote,"Well, really, thatwasn'tmuchofa miracle. The water was only ankle deep at the place theyforded."

When I read that, I thought,Dear Lord! That poor simpletonthinks a whole army drowned in ankle-deep water! It wouldhave been a greater miracle than ever for a whole army todrowninankle-deepwater!

The issue is not that they drowned in ankle-deep water; theissue is that God divided the waters and Israel crossed overdryshod.Ithappenedjust liketheBiblesays ithappened:GoddividedtheRedSea.

But Jesus conquered death. Down in hell He put off fromHimselftheprincipalitiesandthepowers, makinganopenshowof them, triumphingover them in it (Col. 2:15). [He later toldJohnontheIsleofPatmos,"Iamhethatliveth,andwasdead;and,behold,Iamaliveforevermore,andhavethekeysofhellandofdeath"(Rev.1:18).]

Inthe91stPsalm,thereareseventhingsElShaddai—theGodwho ismore thanenough—saidHewilldo for thepersonwhosetshisloveuponHim:

A very learnedman once addressed a group of usministerialstudents. This man had an excellent working knowledge ofmany languages. In fact, when one of the students asked himhowmanylanguageshewasfluentin,hereplied,"thirty-two."

This scholar was a translator for theU.S. Government duringWorld War I. He was recognized as the leading Hebrew andGreekscholarofhisday.

The day he visited us, he was sitting reading his Greek NewTestament.Hesaid,"TherearesomethingsintheGreek—andthiswouldbetrueinsomecasesintheHebrew—forwhichwehavenoidiomintheEnglishlanguage.

ComingtotheActsoftheApostles, weseethatHeisstillaGodwho hears and answers prayer; a God who is more thanenough.

One day Peter and John were on their way into the Templethrough the Gate Beautiful when they saw aman, lame frombirth, begging alms. Itwas at thehour of prayer, 3 o'clock intheafternoon.

"And being let go, they went to their own company, andreported all that the chief priests and elders had said untothem" (v. 23). Bless God, I like that! They went to their owncompany.

Then the whole company of believers lifted up their voicestogether in prayer to God and said, “now, Lord, behold their
