1.0 PURPOSE

The purpose of this test is to confirm proper operation of the logic andvalves added to the CRO instrument air system to fulfill the ATWS-ARIrequirement of 10CFR50.62.

2. 0 DISCUSS ION

PMR 85"3101B performed the following:

Activated the Valcor SY's at the CRD Master Control Station to blockthe air supply and vent the scram pilot solenoid valve header.Automatic initiation is by two RPV level 2's or two RPV high pressures.Manual initiation is also a feature.

Installed annunciators, computer points, indicating lights and GETARSinputs;

Installed bypass switches to allow I&C testing without initiating anATMS-RPT or the ARI System.

This test will check all logic, relocated annunciator windows, computerpoints and GETARS inputs. The last section of the procedure will initiate amanual ARI scram at which time the six HCU's furthest from the vent valveswill have their scram inlet valve opening times monitored.

5.0 PRECAUTIONS/NOTES

5.1 The bypass valve (247021) of the CRD instrument air will be open forthe majority of this test to prevent inadvertent de-pressurization of'he scram inlet and outlet valves. The proper valve line-up will beestablished before the Manual Initiation Test.

5.2 The Manual Initiation Test will cause a scram insertion signal to allthe control rods, with the unit shutdown this will cause an increase ofapproximately one inch per minute in RPV level.

5.3 Test switches with toggle switches used durfng performance of this testare to be installed with the toggle switch contacts in the open position.
