Project Description On January 15, 2009, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced the requirement for the health care industry to adopt the newest generation of [diagnosis] and [procedure codes]. These codes are known as the 10th Edition of the International Classification of [Diseases], more commonly known as [ICD-10]. The required adoption of [ICD-10] includes two medical data code sets as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) standards for use in reporting diagnoses ([ICD-10]-CM) and inpatient hospital procedures ([ICD-10]-PCS) in health care transactions. These standards replace the [ICD-9] code sets, developed nearly 30 years ago, with greatly expanded [ICD-10] code sets. This will help facilitate the United States’ ongoing transition to an electronic health care environment.

The purpose of this project is to enhance the existing ETL so that the ICD-10 codes can also flow in the same route as ICD-9 codes in a single Column. Therefore The ETL is enhanced (Column Name is changed for better understanding/ Column length Change) to provide data to the customers depending on the individual requirement.
