Work Experience

Direct GeoSolutions Ltd. – January 2017 – PresentIndependent Consultant delivering Solutions in all aspects of Development and Production Geology including Well Planning, Execution and Delivery, Reservoir Management and Static Reservoir Modelling.

Shell UK – March 2016 – December 2016Repatriated back from Malaysia to the UK in June 2016 and based in the UK Talent Pool.

Achieved PG TA2 (Technical Assurance) status in November 2016.

Shell Malaysia – April 2013 – May 2016Based in Miri, Sarawak from April 2013 and Kuala Lumpur from November 2014 working on a number of projects covering Static Reservoir Modeling, Reserve Evaluations, Well Planning, Field Development Planning and Well Operations. Provided solutions to overcome challenges set by working within a team and applying best practices in sedimentology, petroleum geology and reservoir modeling.

Sabah Inboard asset - St Joseph Polymer EOR project - Oil and Gas; IOR, shallow water, clastic - deltaic Reservoir modeling project predicting the subsurface flow of polymers of a Pilot CEOR study. Updated static model improved the depositional facies understanding within the field.

Developed a streamlined workflow between static and dynamic reservoir models which improve the history match on the field.

Presented modeling workflow and results at the Shell PP-PG-RE Conference in Muscat Oman in October 2014.

Sabah Inboard asset – Barton Field project – Oil and Gas; IOR, shallow water, clastic - deltaic Updated the Static Reservoir Model to re-evaluate the Barton Field. Revised the field volumes based upon the updated model. Generated cross-sections and maps for Well Reservoir and Facilities Management (WRFM)

reviews. Proposed potential in-fill well locations on the field.

The St Joseph and Barton, static reservoir models were presented to both Partners and the Petronas Management Review Team (MPM) prior to the projects moving to the execution phase.

Sarawak asset – F14 well delivery project – Gas, shallow water, carbonate pinnacle-platform Coordinate the delivery of three offshore gas wells on the F14 shallow water carbonate platform

project. Delivered the Geo-Ops and Well Proposals for all three wells, focusing on the potential high risk

shallow hazards in the area. Key member of the day to day well operations. All three wells were planned and drilled without any issues, ahead of schedule and within

budget.

PTU New Developments – SK408 – Gas, shallow water, carbonate pinnacle Project focused on static reservoir modeling, volume assessment, delivering FDP’s and

associated well planning on recently discovered fields. Static models built with a limited field (well and seismic) dataset with associated offset analog

data. Detailed sedimentological study of sidewall cores. Built workflows to generate deterministic and probabilistic field volumes on a tight schedule. Models were used for deterministic and probabilistic field volumes and Well Placement. The projects were delivered on budget and ahead of schedule going from DG1 (discovery) to

DG3 (FDP) in under 12 months. Model workflows and results were presented to both Partners and Petronas (MPM) as well as

the Shell Leadership team from both Shell Malaysia and the Centre.

PTU New Developments – SK318 – Gas, deepwater offshore, carbonate pinnacle Well Delivery Focal Point and Project Geologist for a deepwater appraisal well project in Block

SK318. Prepared the pre-drill static reservoir model, the well planning document and coordinating the

Well Operational Readiness Review for the appraisal well. Generated detailed data acquisition plan to achieve appraisal well goals. Managed relationships with JV Partners as well as co-located teams within the company. Organized and facilitated a Data Room for unitization purposes. The well was completed on prognosis in late February 2016 with no HSSE issues.

Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) April 2007 – March 2013Asset Project Geologist and Field Focal Point on a number of different clastic oil fields in the Nimr Cluster South Oman including Amin, Al Burj (Waterflood), Ihsan, Amal (Thermal EOR) and Amal South West.

Database Management Project Manager for the Nimr Cluster; during which time the Nimr Cluster achieve the best Database Records for three consecutive years.

Nimr Cluster – Amin Field – Heavy oil, onshore, clastic - sheetflood sandstone Field Focal Point responsible for the planning and delivery of new wells and field management. Plan and drill new wells including core acquisition. Update and maintained the static model based upon well campaign results. Generated cross-sections and maps for Well Reservoir and Facilities Management (WRFM)

reviews and reserve audits.

Nimr Cluster – Al Burj Field – Heavy oil; IOR, onshore, clastic fluvial and glacio-fluvial sandstone Project Geologist for the Al Burj Field responsible for the planning and delivery of new wells. Update and maintained the static model based upon well campaign results. Generated cross-sections and maps for Well Reservoir and Facilities Management (WRFM)

reviews and reserve audits. Proposed and planned a successful attic well campaign to develop stranded hydrocarbons in

shallow reservoir play. Static model update has linked fluvial facies changes to reservoir pressure distribution were

presented in GeoArabia in March 2012.

Nimr Cluster – Ihsan Field – Heavy oil, onshore, clastic fluvial sandstone Field Focal Point and Project Geologist for the Ihsan Field responsible for the Field Management. Updated the static model including facies to improve the distribution of hydrocarbon in the

field. Generated cross-sections and maps for Well Reservoir and Facilities Management (WRFM)

reviews and reserve audits. Planned and proposed new wells.

Thermal Cluster – Amal Field – Heavy oil Thermal EOR, onshore, clastic sheetflood sandstone Project Geologist for the Amal Thermal EOR Project responsible for static model updates and

revisions. Updated the full field static model focusing of facies distribution within the reservoir. Generated a ‘sector model’ to predict the subsurface flow of steam for a Pilot steam injection

study. The static modeling outlined the facies controls on the Amal Thermal EOR Surveillance

Modelling project was well appreciated and presented at the Shell 2012 PP-PG Conference in Rijswijk (October)

Thermal Cluster – Amal South West Field – Heavy oil, onshore, clastic Glacio fluvial sandstone Field Focal Point responsible for the planning and delivery of new wells. Monitor appraisal and development well drilling. Plan and acquire core over target reservoir. Static model included facies review to improve the distribution of hydrocarbons over the field. Proposed, planned and delivered a successful appraisal well campaign.

PersonalI am a British Citizen and am married with two teenage children and have experience living in the Middle East (6 years in Dubai with Dubai Petroleum Company: 2001-2007 and 6 years in Muscat with PDO: 2007 – 2013), and South East Asia (3 years in Miri and Kuala Lumpur Malaysia). I am able to relocate at a short notice – work permits permitting. While in Oman I have had experience in communicating with non-English speaking wellsite crew and engineers and have coped without any problem. I have also have experience working away from my home for periods of time when required.
