Resource Mapping

What is Resource Mapping?Resource mapping is a free signposting service provided by Cornerstone SDS. Our resource mapping officer can provide bespoke research which will outline what is on offer in your local area such as support agencies, social groups, community activities and support any one-off requests.

Who can use Resource Mapping?Everybody who lives in Aberdeenshire is eligible for a resource mapping referral. You do not need to be in receipt of a care package to receive research from our resource mapping officer. This service is ideal for someone who is not eligible for Self-Directed Support but would like to find out what other options are available.

What is the referral process? To use this service you will need to fill out a referral form and return it to the resource mapping officer, once the referral has been received it usually takes a week to have your research returned. The referral form is used to find out what type of research is required. To access a referral form either email or go to the web address on the back of this leaflet.

What can Resource Mapping be used for?Resource mapping has been used for a diverse range of requests, below are some examples of what resource mapping can assist you with:• Activities tailored to your specific interests and needs, for

example, a comic book club has recently been sourced for someone who is interested in science fiction.

• Supported employment or volunteering opportunities.• Information about alternative respite options.• Signposting to relevant funding and grants, for example,

to access a special piece of equipment.• Dementia Support.• General information about the different resources

available in your local community.
