Strolling along the vibrant, leafy boulevard that is James Street - you’ll soon realise that this precinct has something to say! Emerging organically from its industrial roots, James Street has grown into a desirable high-energy pocket with a thriving cultural identity and urban ecology - that has it leading the city’s cosmopolitan evolution.

2014 continues to be a huge year for Brisbane, and James Street is so excited to make it even bigger with our newest and most exciting event, RESORT. From October 23 to 25, the street will transform into an urban vacation, hosting presentations, international tastemakers, and parties from sunrise ‘til sunset.

Foreword

RESORT is a celebration of not only our enviable Queensland lifestyle, but of the incredible talent that the James Street precinct plays host to. We invite you to drop your bags off at the concierge, let your hair down, and dive into RESORT with us.

Don’t forget to upload your favourite photos from the event on social media, using the unique hashtag #RESORTJST.

We look forward to lounging poolside at RESORT with you.

Normally you’d find her being papped by Tommy Ton, or running her digital fashion empire, but come October Leandra Medine will be chilling pool-side during RESORT.

Leandra Medine (aka Man Repeller) is a global style tastemaker, author and digital entrepreneur. Man Repeller is a “humorous site for serious fashion” originally stemming from her desire to dress for herself rather than for members of the opposite sex (hence the phrase man-repelling). One of the most influential figures in fashion, Leandra was voted by Adweek as #1 in Fashion’s Power 25 (beating out the likes of Lady Gaga, Michelle Obama and Anna Wintour). Her unique approach to style has helped her cultivate an international social following, fast approaching 1 million fans. Leandra has also recently released her first book, Seeking Love. Finding Overalls.

man·re·pell·er 1   [mahn-ree-peller]–nounshe who outfits herself in a sartorially offensive mode that may result in repelling members of the opposite sex. Such garments include but are not limited to harem pants, boyfriend jeans, overalls, shoulder pads, full length jumpsuits, jewellery that resembles violent weaponry and clogs.

man·re·pell·er 1   [mahn-ree-peller]–verb (used without object),-pell·ing, -pell·ed. to commit the act of repelling men:Girl 1: What are you wearing tonight?Girl 2: My sweet lime green drop crotch utility pants, of course.Girl 1: Oh, so we’re man repelling tonight?

We take you from the sweltering noon, to a hazy sunset and an evening that

will stretch on ‘til daybreak. So go on – order one of everything.
