Save Energy and Water: Clothes washers account for more than 20% of water used inside the home. Conventional clothes washers can use more than 40 gallons per load (gpl). In contrast, an HECW uses about 18-25 gpl and can hold larger loads! Using an HECW reduces water use and energy consumption. This adds up to savings for you and a big boost for the environment. Replacing old washers with HECW models helps ensure the future water supply is adequate and helps maintain low water rates.

City of Fresno residential customers may be eligible for a rebate when they purchase a new qualifying high efficiency Clothes Washer. All qualifying clothes washers must have an ENERGY STAR label. .Timelines

Application must be post marked and received within 60 days of purchase date ofqualifying HECW clothes washer, or rebate will not be processed.

Rebates

Rebate amount cannot exceed the purchase price of the new clothes washer.

Rebates are limited to one washer rebate per single family utility billing account. PUD’s,HOA’s, mobile homes, condos/townhouses, under a shared utility billing account, alsoqualify as individual units.

Rebate checks will be mailed 6-9 weeks after completing the rebate process.

Application and Rebate Approval or Denial

Copy of the original itemized dated sales receipt for the new washer is required.

Incomplete, incorrect or unsigned applications cannot be processed and will be returnedto the applicant.

Customer will be advised if on-site compliance verification at the address shown on theCity of Fresno utility bill is required.

If clothes washer does not meet City rebate requirements, they will not qualify for thisrebate program.

Clothes washer installation costs and new construction are not rebated. Accessoriesand taxes are not rebated.

Customers must fulfill all program guidelines to be eligible for rebates.

Washer must be completely installed at approved service location listed oncustomer’s City of Fresno utility bill account. Washer must be new and mustremain installed at specified location for at least 6 months.

Other Considerations

The Rebate Program is not responsible for materials lost by mail.

Submission of a rebate application does not guarantee receiving a rebate.

Rebates are processed on a first come, first served basis.

Funding for this rebate program is limited to available resources.

Rebate amounts are subject to change without notification.

This program shall at all times be subject to change or termination without prior notice.

Requirements

City of Fresno may deny any application that does not meet program requirements which can be obtained by calling (559) 621-5480. The undersigned expressly agrees that the City may inspect all items submitted for the High Efficiency Clothes Washer Rebate Program; that the City does not guarantee the performance of any clothes washer; and that the City does not warrant any clothes washer or installation to be free of defects, the quality of the workmanship, or the suitability of the premises or the clothes washer installation. The undersigned further agrees to hold harmless the City of Fresno against all loss, damage, expense and liability resulting from the loss, destruction or damage to property arising out of or in any way connected with installation of a clothes washer. The City reserves the right to alter this program at any time without prior notice. Funding for this rebate program is limited to available resources. Rebates are processed on a first come, first served basis.
