Findings from doing the Research

In many of these thriller kind of films there seems to be a child (often missing), somebody trying to stop bad from happening and sometimes a disturbed male or female who are causing awful/strange things to happen.

The audience should be people over the age of fifteen which ensures that they know what they will be letting themselves in for. Also, these sort of films are not for the faint-hearted or easily upset as big moments frequently happen during these sort of films and they are usually rather jumpy too.

A lot of the time, emergency services are not good enough to solve or prevent what is going on so it gets left to a normal person who is questioning why something really did happen as they think that a lot of the things said or seen do not add up.

Colours on the posters and DVD cases of films like these are usually dark (blacks, reds, greys) and the titles of the films are big block letters and usually one word too which is very effective to use as its quick and easy and sticks in your head. As well as this it creates an enigma code – ‘What does that mean?’ ‘How is it relevant?’
