WHo WE areThe Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) Mobile Unit Program is operated bythe Forensic Tests for Alcohol (FTA) Branch based in Raleigh with BATMobile Units located in designated regions across North Carolina. It is a multifaceted program with a mission to reduce the incidence of impaired driving by supporting law enforcement and raising public awareness.
WHAT WE DOThe BAT Mobile Unit is a highly visibledeterrent against impaired driving. BAT Mobile Unit Coordinatorsprovide support and resources to North Carolina law enforcement at DWI checking stations. They also serve as an educational resource at outreach events that allow the public to learn more about the dangers associated with drinking and driving, and driving while impaired.
