QUESTIONNAIRE

Specifications/Parameters Reply

1. The purpose for which this equipment is needed or in broad outlines the capabilities that are needed.

2. All technical parameters in terms of size, weight, performance, operating environment, power, torque, preservation, utility life, storage, shelf life etc may be specified. 3. All the elements which need to be structured in the costing of the weapons/equipment system (including comprehensive maintenance/product support package.

(a) The Military Svy is modernizing the existing digital mapping facility which is in use for last several years. The existing system clix & NT based have become obsolete and the vendors terminated AMC due to non availability of spare parts. These systems being of low configuration consume considerable time and delays the OP capabilities as they are not fit enough to handle the digital data efficiently. Considering the present technology it is essential and inadvertent to upgrade the digital mapping systems. These new proposed system will increase the technical capabilities of the unit. (b) The new set up of digital mapping system would consists of high end workstation database servers, plotters, scanners and other related accessories alongwith digitization, photogrammetry and image processing, map publication and GIS software for all mapping functionalities. It is to be ensured that these new system will be able to process the existing data efficiently. The expectation to be fulfilled by the purposed configuration are as follows: -

(i) The existing vectorised file in DSM/DVD-1 format should be usable in new system.

(ii) The maps database already created must be usable in new configuration without a need to recreate the data base.

(iii) The new system should be compatible/extendable with the existing data formats with all vector/raster files and GIS database file.

Annexure-1 (attached). The scheme will include comprehensive AMC for three years.
