INTRODUCTION: As we know, gas welding use flame as source of heat. The flame is produced from the mixed of oxygen gas and acetylene gas. The flame melts the edges or surfaces of joining metal. This allow the molten metal to flow together and form a solid continuous joint upon calling.

PROCEDURE: 1. TURNING ON:

a. Acetylene slowly turned on (quarter/half turn of the needle valve) and ignited, producing a small flame. At this stage, a small amount of soot/smoke is given off the end of the flame.

b. Acetylene increased and oxygen turned on slowly.c. Acetylene increased slowly and oxygen more rapidly,

to produce an intense, localised flame, capable of precise welding.

d. The type of fire. Figure 82.

3. T-Joint :

a. Clean the metal plate where it will be joining with a wire brush.

b. Setup the acetylene cylinder and oxygen cylinder using spinder key.

c. Setup the regular to control pressure from the tanks to the required pressure to the hose.

d. Setup the torch to produce the flame starting from acetylene valve and than to the oxygen valve with ratio 1:1

e. Weld the metal with same properties rod to start joining method.

f. Weld the side to make it strong.

g. Then heat the metal with the filler rod to fill the empty space in between the metal.

4. Corner Joint :

a. Clean the metal plate where it will be joining with a

wire brush.b. Setup the acetylene cylinder and oxygen cylinder

using spinder key.c. Setup the regular to control pressure from the tanks

to the required pressure to the hose.d. Setup the torch to produce the flame starting from

acetylene valve and than to the oxygen valve with ratio 1:1

e. Weld the sides of the metal to make it strong.

f. Then heat the metal and the filler rod to fill the empty space between the metals.
