Local Event (i) Rotary Hong Kong Ultramarathon 2017 The Rotary Hong Kong Ultramarathon 2017 was co-organized by the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association and Rotary District 3450, it was held at Lung Wo Road, Central on 5 March 2017. 425 athletes and 172 relay teams participated in this event. (ii) Hong Kong Athletics Series – Series 2 The Hong Kong Athletics Series – Series 2 was organized by the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association and subvented by Leisure & Cultural Services Department (LCSD), it was held at Wan Chai Sports Ground on 25 & 26 March 2017. There were 587 athletes participated in the event. Athlete CHEUNG Wang Fung has broken the Hong Kong Record in Men’s 110m Hurdles with the performance of 14.12s. (iii) PUMA Hong Kong Youth Road Relay 2017 The PUMA Hong Kong Youth Road Relay 2017 was organized by the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association, and title sponsored by PUMA, it was held at Lung Wo Road on 2 April 2017. There were 230 teams participated in this event, this event consisted of 3 Men & 3 Women Categories. The Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China

1. Local Event

(i) Rotary Hong Kong Ultramarathon 2017

The Rotary Hong Kong Ultramarathon 2017 was co-organized by the Hong Kong Amateur

Athletic Association and Rotary District 3450, it was held at Lung Wo Road, Central on

5 March 2017. 425 athletes and 172 relay teams participated in this event.

(ii) Hong Kong Athletics Series – Series 2

The Hong Kong Athletics Series – Series 2 was organized by the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic

Association and subvented by Leisure & Cultural Services Department (LCSD), it was held at

Wan Chai Sports Ground on 25 & 26 March 2017. There were 587 athletes participated in

the event. Athlete CHEUNG Wang Fung has broken the Hong Kong Record in Men’s 110m

Hurdles with the performance of 14.12s.

(iii) PUMA Hong Kong Youth Road Relay 2017

The PUMA Hong Kong Youth Road Relay 2017 was organized by the Hong Kong Amateur

Athletic Association, and title sponsored by PUMA, it was held at Lung Wo Road on

2 April 2017. There were 230 teams participated in this event, this event consisted of 3 Men

& 3 Women Categories.

(iv) Hong Kong Athletics Series – Series 3

The Hong Kong Athletics Series – Series 3 was organized by Hong Kong Amateur Athletic

Association, subvented by Leisure & Cultural Services Department, it was held at Wan Chai

Sports Ground on 22 & 23 April 2017. There were 587 athletes participated in this event,

this event composed of Men & Women categories. CHEUNG Wang Fung has broken the

Hong Kong Record in Men’s 110m Hurdles with the performance of 13.97s; CHOI Sin Ting

has broken the Hong Kong Record in Women’s Pole Vault with the performance of 3.55m; and

WONG Tsz To has broken the Hong Kong Junior Record in Men’s 10,000m with 32:49.27.

(v) ASICS Hong Kong Athletics Championships 2017

The ASICS Hong Kong Athletics Championships 2017 was organized by Hong Kong Amateur

Athletic Association, subvented by Leisure & Cultural Services Department, and title

sponsored by ASICS Hong Kong Limited, it was held at Wan Chai Sports Ground on 13 & 14

May 2017. HUI Wai Hei and LAM Ming Yiu have broken the Hong Kong Record and Hong

Kong Junior in Men’s Javelin Throw with the performance of 68.03m and 61.69m

respectively.

1 Local Event

1.1 2017 Hong Kong Badminton Doubles League

Organized by HKBA and subvented by LCSD. The event was held

from January to May 2017 at various LCSD sports centres. Award

presentation ceremony will be held on 25 June (Sunday) at Wai Tsuen

Sports Centre.

1.2 Bank of China (Hong Kong) 2017 Hong Kong Inter-school

Badminton Team Championships

Organized by HKBA, sponsored by BOCHK and subvented by

LCSD. The event was held from 14 April to 3 May 2017, including

teams from tertiary institutes, secondary schools and primary schools

at LCSD various sports centres. Award presentation ceremony was

held on 3 May at Wai Tsuen Sports Centre. Almost 180 teams were

received.

1.3 BOCHK 2017 Hong Kong Annual Badminton Championships

Organized by HKBA, sponsored by BOCHK and subvented by LCSD.

This championships started from 23 May to 16 July 2017 at various

LCSD sports centres. The finals cum award presentation ceremony of

Division A will be held on 16 July 2017 at Queen Elizabeth Stadium.

Over 2,300 entries were received.

1.4 School Sports Programme

Organized by HKBA, subvented, coordinated and implemented by

LCSD and co-organized by the Education Bureau, the Chinese

University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Baptist University.

Coaches are arranged to schools for Easy Sport Programme and

Outreach Coaching Programme for 58 courses in April, 40 courses in

May, 38 courses in June respectively.

4. Coaching Course

Pre-Level 1 Coaching Course 2017 – Class B & C

This was a pre-requisite for Level 1 Coaching Courses. The course B & C were held from March to

April and May to June 2017. The Pre-Level 1 Coaching Course (total: 22 hours) included ten practical

lessons and a final examination session. Each lesson was lasted for two hours. The numbers of

participant are 52.

of Hong Kong, China to be held on 8 June 2017 HIGHLIGHTS

The first BFA Women's Baseball Asian Cup in Hong Kong The Hong Kong Baseball Association (HKBA) is pleased to announce that the first ever BFA Women's Baseball Asian Cup (WBAC) with six national teams,i.e. (name of 6 teams), will come on the field on 2-7 September 2017 on Sai Tso Wan Baseball Field, No. 90 Sin Fat Road, Lam Tin, Kowloon. It clearly demonstrates that women can play baseball well too,a sport for all. To promote the WBAC, HKBA will organize series of pre-events with different partners for general public to feel the beat of baseball between June and August. I. INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT

1. FUMAKAMTSU International Baseball Cup 2017 The tournament was held at Sendai, Japan on 24-28 March 2017. Participating teams from 七十七銀行硬式野球部、東北大学硬式

野球部、青葉クラブ、石巻専修大学硬式野

球部 and Hong Kong played in the competition.

2. 13th National Games Preliminary Round

The preliminary round of the Tournament was held in Wuxi on 10-18 May 2017. There were totally teams participated in two groups and Hong Kong was grouped with Guangdong, Shanghai, Henan and Liaoning, and joined with Jiangsu and Shandong in the supplementary games for the final round,which only top five teams will be participating. Hong Kong team finished with 7th position in the preliminary round

B. Overseas Training/Exchange Programme 1. LCSD Funding Scheme for Youth Sports Exchange - Youth Women’s Baseball Japan Exchange Programme An exchange programme was organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) and hosted by the Hong Kong Baseball Association (HKBA),with aims to a) raise the sports skill level of the youth; b) broaden their horizons; and c) establish their network with counterpart country/city through subsidize national sports associations to organize international sports exchange programmes for the members of regional/junior squad of the NSAs or participants of youth/junior development schemes by the NSAs youth whose aged 23 or below. The Hong Kong Youth Women's Baseball Japan Exchange Programme (the Programme) goes underway between 13 April and 18 April 2017. Some of the finest young women baseball players were selected to participate in a joint training with the players from the Heisei International University.

VI. OFFICIALS TRAINING

1. Workshop for Elite Training Coaches (CPD Session) The training session instructed by Mr. Charles Yang, the Technical Commission of Baseball Federation of Asia, was held in Sai Tso Wan Baseball Field from 31 March to 2 April 2017. The aims of training were helping our coaches to review baseball game strategy, the skills of fielding, batting and base-running.

VIII. UPCOMING EVENTS

1. 2017 I BFA Women’s Baseball Asian Cup will be hosted by the Hong Kong Baseball Association on 2-7 September 2017. The tournament is the qualifying game of the next Women’s Baseball World Cup. Six national teams will compete for the representing place in Asia.

2. Women’s Baseball Clinic with World Baseball Softball Confederation The first ever BFA Women’s Baseball Asian Cup (WBAC) will be held in Hong Kong on 2-7 September 2017. WBAC will serve as the qualifier for the WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup® 2018. World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC, formerly known as International Baseball Federation "IBAF") showed its support to this inaugural event and will send two international clinicians to Hong Kong and run a Women's Baseball Clinic on 1-4 July 2017, to further promote baseball to girls/women in Asia and build the awareness of upcoming WBAC.

Local Event 41st SOHK Bowling Competition Subvented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and co-organized by Special Olympics Hong Kong, the captioned competition was held at Magic Fun Bowling World on 14/2 & 3/3/2017 with 98 athletes from 18 agency members. Seminar: From Effective Communication with Athletes with Intellectual Disability to Effective Training Outcomes Subvented by the Hong Kong Coaching Committee, the seminar was held at Hong Kong Sports Institute on 25/3/2017 with 31 participants. The seminar focused on the communication with athletes with intellectual disability to foster effective training outcomes. Samsung 60th Festival of Sport - Adaptive Games Sponsored by Samsung, subvented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and co-organized by Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, the captioned event was held at Kowloon Park Sports Centre on 20/4/2017 with 210 athletes from 14 agency members. 2017 Hong Kong Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics It was held on 30/4/2017 at Sha Tin Sports Ground with Mr. LAI Tung Kwok, GBS, IDSM, JP, Secretary for Security as our Guest of Honour. This event was organized by Special Olympics Hong Kong, jointly organized by 7 law enforcement departments and supported by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department to raise funds for persons with intellectual disability. Over 2,900 persons coming from 7 law enforcement departments, special schools participated in the Run which attracted lots of passers-by and media coverage and about $2,000,000 was raised in the event. 41st SOHK Table Tennis Competition Subvented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and co-organized by Special Olympics Hong Kong, the captioned competition was held at Wai Tsuen Sports Centre on 7,27,28/4 & 2/5/2017 with 300 athletes from 25 agency members. 41st SOHK Mini-Volleyball Competition Subvented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and co-organized by Special Olympics Hong Kong, the captioned competition was held at Kowloon Park Sports Centre on 26/4 & 10,11/5/2017 with 191 athletes from 13 agency members.

The 6th Hong Kong Games (Swimming Invitational Games for Persons with Intellectual Disability) 15 HKSAPID athletes participated in the captioned event at Victoria Park Swimming Pool on 13-14/5/2017. Overseas Event 2017 INAS Indoor Athletics Championships (Europe), Czech Republic Hong Kong Team, comprising 1 team manager, 1 staff, 1 coach and 5 athletes (1 female and 4 male), participated in the 2017 INAS Indoor Athletics Championships (Europe) which was held in Prague, Czech Republic on 10-12/3/2017. The track and field athletes were given opportunities to polish their skills in the competition with ID athletes from 14 countries/regions. 2017 INAS Conference and General Meeting, Australia It was organized by INAS in Brisbane, Australia on 21-23/4/2017 and our Vice President, Mr. David IP and Chairman (Secretary General of INAS Asia), Mr. Patrick CHAN attended the meeting to share and discuss the development of ID sport in INAS. Sheffield 2017 World Para Swimming World Series–British Para Swimming International Meet, United Kingdom Hong Kong Team, comprising 2 coaches and 5 male athletes, participated in the Sheffield 2017 World Para Swimming World Series–British Para Swimming International Meet which was held in Sheffield, United Kingdom on 27-30/4/2017. The swimming athletes were given opportunities to polish their skills in the competition with ID athletes from 10 countries/regions and 2 medals, 1 silver and 1 bronze, were grasped. INAS Eligibility Seminar 2017 It was organized by INAS in Bangkok, Thailand on 16/5/2017 and our Advisor, Mr. Eddie LEE attended the seminar which introduced eligibility and classification in INAS and detail explanation of the eligibility process. INAS Asia General Assembly 2017 It was organized by INAS Asia in Bangkok, Thailand on 16/5/2017 and our Chairman (Secretary General of INAS Asia), Mr. Patrick CHAN attended the meeting to share and discuss the development of ID sport in INAS Asia. 2017 INAS Athletics Championships, Thailand Hong Kong Team, comprising 1 team manager, 1 staff, 1 coach and 4 athletes (1 female and 3 male), participated in the 2017 INAS Athletics Championships which was held in Bangkok, Thailand on 15-18/5/2017. The track and field athletes were given opportunities to polish their skills in the competition with ID athletes from 19 countries/regions and 1 gold medal was grasped. 2017 Para Table Tennis World Team Championship, Slovak Republic Hong Kong Team, comprising 1 team manager, 1 staff, 2 coaches and 6 athletes (3 female and 3 male), participated in the 2017 Para Table Tennis World Team Championship which was held in Bratislava, Slovak Republic on 17-20/5/2017. The table tennis athletes were given opportunities to polish their skills in the competition with ID athletes from 5 countries/regions and 2 silver medals were grasped.
