About the Report Builder

Overview

You can easily generate multiple reports for a single account or multiple accounts in a single Report

Pack. The most common client reports are:

Portfolio Valuation

Portfolio Performance

Accessing the Report Builder Homepage

After signing in to your account click Report Builder on the navigation bar. You can select to run

reports for a single account or across multiple accounts. For the purposes of this document we will

discuss the creation of reports for multiple accounts only.

After clicking on Report Builder you will be taken to the following screen:

From the Report Builder Homepage you can create, access, or search for a Report Pack.

About the Reports

To view all of the available reports click the Multiple Accounts tab. On the following menu all of the

reports and their descriptions will appear:

From here you can view and select any or all of the reports you require. You may also view the reports

by clicking the Multiple Accounts tab and then clicking Select All.

Please note that the Trading Transactions and Cash Statement reports will not be produced for

proportion accounts.

Further options

The following reports have additional parameters you can select:

Field Description

TRADING TRANSACTIONS From the dropdown menu you can select to run Buys and Sells Only or to include Corporate Actions

Note: this report will not be produced for proportion accounts.

PORTFOLIO VALUATION The dropdown menu allows you to select the Asset Classification:

PORTFOLIO ASSET

ALLOCATION

You are able to select a Bar Graph or Pie Chart for this report, and can include strategy details:

Changing the viewing order

If you would like to change the order of the reports on your Report Group screen simply drag and

drop the item where you would like it:

Creating a report pack

Create your own report packs in just a few steps:

1. Select the reports to include

2. Select the portfolios to include

3. Create an optional cover sheet

4. Name the report pack and select a date range

5. Run the report

Select your reports

From the Report Groups menu on the left you can choose the most common types of report packs.

Full report pack

The Full report pack contains all the available reports:

Portfolio valuation and CGT report pack

The Portfolio valuation and CGT report pack contains the Portfolio Valuation, Realised and Unrealised

CGT reports:

Portfolio valuation and performance report pack

The Portfolio valuation and performance report pack contains the Portfolio Performance and Portfolio

Valuation reports:

Custom report packs

Or you can easily create your own custom pack. Click Create New and tick only the reports you wish to

include. In the below example only the Cash Statement and Income reports will be included in the

Report Pack:

When you name and save your group it will appear under the Run Report menu on the right which

means it is selected for the current report pack. It also is on the menu on the left, from where you will

be able to select it for future report packs.

Select your portfolios

The Portfolio Group contains the client accounts you may include in the Report Packs. You can access

the portfolios either by selecting All portfolios on the left hand menu or by clicking on the Portfolio

Group tab and adding rules by which to select accounts.

To create your own Portfolio Group you must enter a Portfolio Group Name and select at least one

Rule from the dropdown menus.

You are able to create rules using the following filter criteria:

Field Description

MARKET VALUE You may select portfolios based on the portfolio valuation.

PRODUCT TYPE (dps only) You may filter by product type. For portfolios invested within a

tax wrapper the wrapper type will appear in this drop-down menu.

(Smartfund only) You may filter only by CGT Chargable, Tax Exempt or

ISA. The other types cannot be applied.

REGULAR INVESTMENT You may filter by portfolios that have or do not have regular investments.

STATUS You may select all accounts or filter by accounts that are active.

ACCOUNT NAME From here you may select by name, or enter part of a name to search for

a portfolio by selecting Contains from the second dropdown menu.

ACCOUNT CODE Enter all (Equal To) or part (Contains) of an account code to display the

relevant portfolios.

INVESTMENT ENTITY You may include all investments or filter by the investment type (Individual

/Trust/Joint/Company).

ADVISER An adviser may only view his or her own portfolios; however, the

administrator may view all portfolios.

FIRM REFERENCE Use this filter to sort by references used by your firm.

1. Click View Accounts to view the accounts you have selected. You may exclude any account

from the report by ticking the Exclude box.

2. Give the portfolio group a name and click Save to save this as a permanent group. Each time

you run this report the list will automatically update with any new accounts that fit the selection

criteria.

When you name and save your group it will appear under the Run Report menu on the right which

be able to select it for future report packs.

Creating an optional Cover Sheet

Your optional cover sheet will already be preloaded with your own branding. Enter any other details

you wish to include.

When you click on the Cover Sheet tab the following screen will appear:

Enter all details to be included in the cover sheet.

The dropdown box to the right of each field allows

you to set the position of each item or to exclude the

item.

Once you have saved the cover letter you may check

what the cover letter will look like at any time by

clicking on Preview.

Enter final details and create your report

From the Run Report menu on the right you will enter all the final details for your report pack.

Enter the Report Name. If you do not enter a name the report will be given a default name

that includes the Report Group name, Portfolio Group name and current date.

If you have included a number of reports you may wish to tick the Contents Page box.

Enter the Date From and Date To.

When all details are entered correctly click Run.

You will be able to track the status of your report in the Currently Running screen:

When the green box appears click the download symbol to view and save your reports.

You may wish to download and store your reports in a separate file on your computer; however, this is

not necessary. Your reports are permanently stored and available for download and viewing at any

time.

Managing Your Reports

Viewing reports

On the Report Search tab you will be able to view or search for any report. The page will automatically

display the 30 most recent reports; if you are interested in viewing an older report you can search by

Report Group, Portfolio Group, Cover Sheet and/or Run Between dates:

Under the Currently Running section you will be able to view and download all the reports run that

day. They will be available to view under Report Search the following day.

Running reports again

You have two options when running reports again:

Click Download to download the previously run

report.

Click Run Again and insert a new date range to

include any new portfolios.

Deleting old groups

If you have created report or portfolio

groups that are no longer relevant you

may delete them at any time by clicking

on the delete symbol next to the item.
