If we are looking for more than one thing, the question changes a little bit:

The word for “search” or “look for” in Spanish

If I am searching for something the verb ending changes:

If I am searching for one (masculine) thing, I may say
Yo lo busco“lo” means “it” in this example”
If I am searching for one (femenine) thing, I may say
Yo la busco“la” means “it” in this example”
