DAY 1 – Tuesday, May 22, 2018 - USA to ROMEYou will begin your journey to Italy by boarding an international flight to Rome. Meals and snacks will be served on the plane.

DAY 2 – Wednesday, May 23, 2018 - ARRIVE ROME Upon a morning arrival in Rome, take a sightseeing tour of Rome with a local guide that will include Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. Piazza Navona is built on the site of the ruins of the 1st century Stadium of Domitian and follows the form of the stadium. The Pantheon is a former Roman temple that is now a church. The Spanish Steps climb the steep slope between the Piazza di Spagna and Piazza Trinità dei Monti. The iconic Trevi Fountain is considered a work of art and has been featured in many movies. Attend the Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican that will be sung by Reinhardt University Choir. Dinner on your own and overnight in Rome.

DAY 3 – Thursday, May 24, 2018 - ROME Today take a sightseeing tour of the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. The Vatican museum features an immense collection of some of the most renowned classical sculptures and most important masterpieces of Renaissance art in the world. The Sistine Chapel is known for its architecture and frescoes by Renaissance artists, including Michelangelo who painted the chapel ceiling. The afternoon will be free at leisure for you to explore on your own. In the evening attend a concert by the Reinhardt University Choir. Dinner is on your own. Overnight in Rome.

DAY 4 – Friday, May 25, 2018 - ROME / ASSISI / MONTECATINITransfer this morning to Montecatini Terme with a stop en route to visit Assisi, the birthplace of St. Francis, who founded the Franciscan order in 1208. Upon arrival, take a sightseeing tour of this city that features historic monuments related to St. Francis as well as the 12th-century Assisi Cathedral and the Basilica of St. Francis. The Basilica was built in the years after the canonization of St. Francis and completed in 1253. It is home to early Renaissance masterpieces by Giotto and Cimabue. Your tour could include the ancient manuscripts in the music library in the Basilica (subject to confirmation). Continue to Montecatini in the Tuscany region, stopping at the Agriturismo “Il Poggio” for a farm visit and wine tasting and a meal. Overnight in Montecatini Terme.

DAY 5 – Saturday, May 26, 2018 - LUCCA EXCURSIONThis morning enjoy an excursion to Lucca. You will have the afternoon at leisure there to explore on your own. In the evening, attend a concert by the Reinhardt University Choir in Pieve di San Leonardo. Dinner will be on your own and overnight in Montecatini Terme.

DAY 6 – Sunday, May 27, 2018 - FLORENCE EXCURSIONToday take a full-day excursion to Florence that will include a visit to the Accademia. Florence, the beautiful capital of the region of Tuscany is considered to be the birthplace of the Renaissance. The Accademia is the home of Michelangelo’s sculpture David. The main halls also offer visitors the opportunity to view works by great Italian artists such as Sandro Botticelli, Domenico Ghirlandaio, Pontormo, Andrea del Sarto, Allessando Allori and Orcagna. In the evening, transfer to Venice Mestre, built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. Dinner and overnight in Venice Mestre area.

DAY 7 – Monday, May 28, 2018 - VENICE MESTREEnjoy morning sightseeing in Venice’s historic center that will include St. Mark’s Cathedral and Doge’s Palace. St. Mark’s is one of the best known examples of Byzantine architecture. Connected to St. Mark’s Basilica is Doge’s Palace (entrances included). In the afternoon enjoy a gondola ride through Venice Mestre. In the evening, attend a concert by the Reinhardt University Choir. Farewell Dinner and overnight in the Venice Mestre area.

DAY 8 – Tuesday, May 29, 2018 - VENICE MESTRE / USAAfter breakfast, meet your coach and transfer to the airport in Venice Mestre to return to the USA, taking with you memories of exploring Italy and hearing the Reinhardt University Choir perform there.
