by David WaxmanSeattle Washington:A clinical study on a leading acid re ux pill shows that its key ingredient relieves digestive symp-toms while suppressing the in ammation that con-tributes to premature aging in men and women.

And, if consumer sales are any indication of a product’s e ectiveness, this ‘acid re ux pill turned anti-aging phenomenon’ is nothing short of a miracle.

Sold under the brand name AloeCure, it was already backed by clinical data documenting its ability to provide all day and night relief from heartburn, acid re ux, constipation, irritable bow-el, gas, bloating, and more.

But soon doctors started reporting some incred-ible results…

“With AloeCure, my patients started reporting less joint pain, more energy, better sleep, stronger immune systems… even less stress and better skin, hair, and nails” explains Dr. Liza Leal; a leading integrative health specialist and company spokes-person.

AloeCure contains an active ingredient that helps improve digestion by acting as a natural acid-bu er that improves the pH balance of your stomach.

Scientists now believe that this acid imbal-ance is what contributes to painful in ammation throughout the rest of the body.

The daily allowance of AloeCure has shown to calm this in ammation which is why AloeCure is so e ective.

Relieving other stressful symptoms related to GI health like pain, bloating, fatigue, cramping, constipation, diarrhea, heartburn, and nausea.

Now, backed with new clinical studies, Aloe-Cure is being recommended by doctors every-where to help improve digestion, calm painful in ammation, soothe joint pain, and even reduce the appearance of wrinkles – helping patients to look and feel decades younger.

FIX YOUR GUT & FIGHT INFLAMMATION

Since hitting the market, sales for AloeCure have taken o and there are some very good rea-sons why.

To start, the clinical studies have been impres-sive. Participants taking the active ingredient in AloeCure saw a stunning 100% improvement in digestive symptoms, which includes fast and last-ing relief from re ux.

Users also experienced higher energy levels and endurance, relief from chronic discomfort and better sleep. Some even reported healthier looking skin, hair, and nails.

A healthy gut is the key to a reducing swell-

ing and in ammation that can wreak havoc on the human body. Doctors say this is why AloeCure works on so many aspects of your health.

AloeCure’s active ingredient is made from the healing compound found in Aloe vera. It is both safe and healthy. There are also no known side e ects.

Scientists believe that it helps improve diges-tive and immune health by acting as a natural acid-bu er that improves the pH balance of your stomach.

Research has shown that this acid imbalance contributes to painful in ammation throughout your entire body and is why AloeCure seems to be so e ective.

EXCITING RESULTS FROM PATIENTSTo date over 5 million bottles of AloeCure have

been sold, and the community seeking non-phar-ma therapy for their GI health continues to grow.

According to Dr. Leal, her patients are ab-solutely thrilled with their results and are often shocked by how fast it works.

“For the rst time in years, they are free from concerns about their digestion and almost every other aspect of their health,” says Dr. Leal, “and I recommend it to everyone who wants to improve GI health without resorting to drugs, surgery, or OTC medications.”

“I was always in ‘indigestion hell.’ Doctors put me on all sorts of antacid remedies. Nothing worked. Dr. Leal recommended I try AloeCure. And something remarkable happened… Not only were all the issues I had with my stomach gone - completely gone – but I felt less joint pain and I was able to actually sleep through the night.”

With so much positive feedback, it’s easy to see why the community of believers is growing and sales for the new pill are soaring.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND ALOECUREAloeCure is a pill that’s taken just once daily.

The pill is small. Easy to swallow. There are no harmful side e ects and it does not require a pre-scription.

The active ingredient is a rare Aloe Vera com-ponent known as acemannan.

Made from of 100% organic Aloe Vera, Aloe-Cure uses a proprietary process that results in the highest quality, most bio-available levels of ace-mannan known to exist.

According to Dr. Leal and several of her col-leagues, improving the pH balance of your stomach and restoring gut health is the key to revitalizing your entire body.

When your digestive system isn’t healthy, it causes unwanted stress on your immune system,

which results in in ammation in the rest of the body.

The recommended daily allowance of ace-mannan in AloeCure has been proven to support digestive health, and calm painful in ammation without side e ects or drugs.

This would explain why so many users are ex-periencing impressive results so quickly.

REVITALIZE YOUR ENTIRE BODYWith daily use, AloeCure helps users look and

feel decades younger and defend against some of the painful in ammation that accompanies aging and can make life hard.

By bu ering stomach acid and restoring gut health, AloeCure calms painful in ammation and will help improve digestion… soothe aching joints… reduce the appearance of winkles and help restore hair and nails … manage cholester-ol and oxidative stress… and improve sleep and brain function… without side e ects or expense.

Readers can now reclaim their energy, vitali-ty, and youth regardless of age or current level of health.

rom restoring power after a storm tobuilding new lines to serve customers,Nebraska’s electric linemen are the

face of public power in Nebraska. They playa vital role in serving customers around-the-clock with reliable and affordable electricity. They don’t always get the recognition they

deserve. Please take a moment on April 9and join me in expressing your appreciationfor their professional contributions in allkinds of weather conditions, day and night.Use #ThankALineman on social media toshow your support for the men and womenwho light our lives. You probably don’t even notice these well-

trained and highly skilled employeesworking hard to keep the electricity flowingin the areas they serve. It’s not until a stormstrikes and the power goes out that most of

us think about these guys. When the power goes out, for whatever

reason, Nebraska’s electric linemen are thefirst to jump into action. Crews fromneighboring systems will join in the effort tohelp restore power as quickly as possible. Linemen must perform their duties safely

and efficiently while wearing special gear toprotect themselves. This gear often makestheir tasks more difficult. America’s public power districts and

electric cooperatives have designated thesecond Monday of April as National LinemanAppreciation Day.On April 9, 2018, the Nebraska Rural

Electric Association and its 33 member-systems will honor the hard working menand women who often work in challengingconditions to keep the lights on.

ermit the Frog, my favoriteMuppet, famously sang that“it’s not easy being green.” In

your electric world, being green canmean being more efficient, adding newenergy sources, such as renewables, orboth. Nebraskan’s will find it easy tobe “green” electricity users, today andtomorrow.I applaud the “green movement.”

We all want to leave the planet betterthan we found it for our children andgrandchildren. For years, the electricindustry has pursued technology toprovide cleaner energy and reduceemissions from plants. Nationwide, the industry is embracing renewablesources like solar and wind power toreduce the carbon footprint ofproviding power. However, the mantra I have heard

from some renewable advocates isthat we need to “start theconversation” about incorporatingrenewables into Nebraska’selectric portfolio. Incorporatingrenewables into the electricportfolio takes thought, hardwork, and much engineering. That conversation has notonly started, but is wellunderway. As one managerrecently told me, “I think aboutgreen initiatives every day-several times a day.” Boards arediscussing “green” strategies likerenewables, but also efficiencyprograms, peak shaving, etc. Moreover, our electric energy mix ischanging to add more renewables andother energy sources that decreasethat carbon footprint in a rapidmanner. Renewable advocates say we need to

use more renewables in our energymix. Twenty years ago, very fewrenewables were used. Today: • U.S. Energy Information

Administration (EIA) reports that in

2017, Nebraskans received 20 percentof their power from wind or solarresources. • Tri-State Generation &

Transmission Association andNebraska Public Power District(NPPD) serve most of rural Nebraskapublic power systems. Tri-State nowprovides 30 percent renewables intheir overall energy mix NPPD

provided over 17 percent renewablesin their 2016 energy mix. (2017figures were not available.)• S&P Global indicates U.S. utilities

spent $6.9 billion in 2017 and willspend $9.6 billion in 2018 addingrenewables.Furthermore, as renewable costs

have declined, more renewables areadded to your energy mix. The resultsform technology, and changing sourceshave produced results: • According to the 2017 BP

Statistical Review of World Energy, since 2005, the annual U.S. carbon

dioxide emissions have declined by758 million metric tons. • EIA reports since 1980 carbon and

other related particulate pollution hasdecreased by 67 percent. During thatsame period, electric demandincreased 25 percent and populationincreased 42 percent. Here’s the “green energy” reality.

Wherever you are served electricity inrural Nebraska, renewables are agrowing part of electric service asrenewable use becomes prudent.Renewable sources have become morereliable and cost-effective, and theelectric industry has increasedrenewables in the energy mix. Therenewable incorporating cannothappen overnight- not if we want tokeep the lights on in a safe, reliableand cost-effective manner that servesall Nebraskans. Rural Nebraska public powersystems are discussingincorporating renewables.Nebraska’s public powersystem is giving back toNebraska and ourfuture, by encouragingefficiency, reducingemissions andsensibly integratingrenewables into theenergy mix as theybecome prudent.Nebraska's publicpower systemscollectively andindividually are having

the “green energy” conversations.Public power is moving prudently, sothe energy remains safe, reliable andcost-effective for their consumers. So, while I tip my hat to Kermit the

Frog, I contest his premise. It is easyto be “green,” with your electric useand will become easier. Efficiency isincreasing. The energy mix ischanging as renewables become viableoptions. So, perhaps, the next timesomeone says public power needs tostart the conversation; you can reply“We already have!”.

“When we ran out of Hall ofFamers, we decided to recognize anyNebraska player that played at leastone inning of major league baseball,”Studley said. “Over the years 160major league baseball players withNebraska ties have been identified.” A synopsis of their careers havebeen printed on plaques andmounted on the roster wall. One of the players featured is LeonRiley, who was born in Princeton,Neb. Studley pointed out that Rileyplayed a very short time in themajors and is also the father of PatRiley, a former coach and player inthe National Basketball Association.Leon Riley, played twenty-twoseasons of minor league baseball, and appeared in four games for the1944 Philadelphia Phillies. “There are a lot of interestingstories in these players,” said BoardMember Duane Altstadt. “Sometimeswe learn things from our guests.” A few other players, like Bob Cervof Weston, Neb. and Darrell Johnsonof Ord, Neb., have been singled outfor having exceptional careers buthaven’t yet been elected to the MLBHall of Fame. These players havebeen recognized in expandeddisplays within the museum. Cerv, a former Cornhusker, was afriend and roommate of MickeyMantle. He visited the museum andalso served as the Grand Marshal ata past GCA Days parade. The display for Wade Boggsfeatures a pair of his cleats and acouple baseball hats he wore. Studleysaid the museum wrote him a letterto ask for memorabilia and six weekslater they received a box full of items. Artifacts and photos arecontinually sought as donations tothe museum. The collection of Grover ClevelandAlexander material is quiteextensive. It includes a glove used byAlexander and a 1926 World Seriesbaseball signed by Alexander and

other members of the St. LouisCardinals. Ronald Reagan portrayedAlexander in the 1952 film “TheWinning Team,” a biography of thelife of Alexander. Doris Day playedAlexander’s wife, Aimee. Altstadt explained how Alexanderstruck out Tony Lazzeri in theseventh game of the 1926 WorldSeries, preserving the Cardinals’ 3-2lead. Alexander came into the gamein the seventh inning, with two outs

and the bases full of Yankees. Lazzeriwas part of the famed “Murderers’Row” Yankee batting lineup, alongwith Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig.Alexander was 39 at the time. Including Grover ClevelandAlexander, seven players fromNebraska have been inducted intothe MLB Hall of Fame and theMuseum of Nebraska Major LeagueBaseball honors each with a displayin its “Hall of Fame Room”. There aredisplays for Sam Crawford of Wahoo(1993), Dazzy Vance of Hastings(1994), Richie Ashburn of Tilden(1995), Bob Gibson of Omaha (1981),Wade Boggs of Omaha (2005) andWilliam Southworth of Harvard(2008).

he specter of cyber-attacks on our nation’s critical infrastructure bringsto mind Hollywood depictions like War Games or Mr. Robot. But howdangerous are cyber-attacks? Currently, cyber-attacks are one of many

risks electric utilities have to manage, but the threat to sensitive data andfinancial accounts is larger than it is to the physical grid itself. According toChris Inglis, former deputy director of the National Security Agency, “I don’tthink paralysis [of the electrical grid] is more likely by cyber-attack than bynatural disaster. And frankly, the number-one threat experienced to date bythe U.S. electrical grid is squirrels.” While there are examples of cyber-attacks on utility systems, they’re rare. A

recent cyber-attack on distribution control systems in Ukraine led to an outagethat affected 225,000 customers in December 2015. In the case of the Ukraineattack, electricity was restored within three to six hours by manuallyoperating switches. Some firmware was permanently damaged, but there wasno damage to generation equipment.A cyber-attack – especially cybercrime – is a risk for electric utilities. Every

year, cybercrime costs the U.S. billions of dollars. For public power districtsand electric cooperatives, the average cyber insurance claim costs $733,000according to Bill West, vice president of underwriting at Federated RuralElectric Insurance Exchange. To protect against malicious hackers, cooperatives are implementing different defensive strategies includingpenetration testing, staff training, application whitelisting and investing ininnovative research and development.Penetration testing involves paying a third party to hack your network from

the outside. Penetration testers, or pen testers, provide a report of the exploitsthey used in order to show the utility its areas for improvement. The goal is tofind weaknesses that are visible to attackers and to patch them beforemalicious hackers discover them.

power line while working isdangerous as electricity can arc or“jump” to conducting material orobjects, such as a ladder, pole, or truck.Remember, non-metallic materialssuch as lumber, tree limbs, tires, ropes, and haywill conductelectricitydepending ondampness, dust, and dirtcontamination. • If your

equipment does comeinto contact with powerlines, stay in the cab and call forhelp. Warn others who may benearby to stay away and wait untilthe electric utility arrives.

• If leaving the cab is necessary, asin the case of fire, the proper actionis to jump—not step—with both

feet hitting the ground atthe same time. Hop tosafety, keeping bothfeet together as youleave the area.Once you get awayfrom theequipment, neverattempt to getback on or eventouch theequipment beforethe power has been

shut off. Managers should

make sure full-time andseasonal workers are educated onthese safety precautions, and dangerareas need to be thoroughlyidentified and labeled.

SAFETY BRIEFS

One mistake can change your life foreverom Dickey had years ofexperience in undergrounddirectional boring when he

made a mistake that changed his life.He was asked to do an additionalproject at the end of the workday. Hissafety equipment was on a truck thathad already left for the day, but hedecided he had the experience to dothis quick project. Tom made onesmall slip and received a high-voltage electric shock. Tom wasfortunate to survive, but he spentmonths recovering and lives in painto this day. “You may get by with it a thousandtimes, but at some point it canhappen to you,” says Tom. “I alwaysthought that I was as good at doingwhat I did as anybody.” He says themost painful part of his experiencewas, “just watching my family andthe suffering that they went through, the anguish that I know they weregoing through freaking out aboutlosing a dad or losing a husband.” Electrical accidents are simply toodangerous to risk. According to theBureau of Labor Statistics, construction and farming /ranchingare two of the most dangerous jobs in

America. Electrical accidents—aboveand below ground—are a major riskin these fields. It is important to takeproper safety precautions to avoidthe tragic consequences of electricalaccidents and contact withunderground pipelines. These tips from Safe Electricitycan help you stay safe in these fieldsof work: • Always use proper safetyequipment, and get it inspectedregularly to make sure it is still ingood working order. • Call 8-1-1 before you dig, and getunderground utilities identified.Electricity, gas, and other

underground utilities can be deadlyif you make contact with them. • Keep large equipment 10 feetaway from power lines in alldirections. Use a spotter to help youdo this. If you do come in contactwith a power line, do not leave yourequipment. In doing so, you becomethe electricity’s path to the groundand could receive a fatal shock. Stayin the equipment until utilityworkers de-energize the line. • Test circuits and conductorsbefore working on them. Follow lock out/tag out procedures, which require workers to isolateelectricity before leaving a job.

If you are one of the 48 million Americans suffering from hearing loss, we have great news for you. An innovative team of doctors and engineers have teamed up to create a truly revolutionary personal sound amplifier. It’s not a hearing aid– those require trips to the audiologist, hearing tests and can cost as much as $5,000. It’s also not a cheap amplifier that just makes everything louder, making it virtually impossible to hear conversations. It’s Perfect Choice HD UltraTM… and it may be the perfect solution for you. Perfect Choice HD UltraTM is the first PSAP that features Dynamic Speech Optimization (DSO). This technology enables the device to prioritize the spoken word over other sounds. These noises are generally in different frequencies than voices, but they can drown out the words and make conversations hard to understand. This invention targets the frequencies of the human voice and amplifies the words. It’s even designed to diminish feedback even at higher volumes, so you can customize your hearing experience to meet your needs. Just imagine how great it will feel to be able to understand what people are saying… the first time they say it. That’s only the beginning. This unit is small and lightweight at less than an ounce, so it hides discreetly and

comfortably behind your ear. The only way people will know you have it on is if you tell them. Plus, its moisture resistant coating make it durable– you could even leave it in when you take a shower! There’s no fitting or hearing test required, so it’s ready to use right out of the box. Once it’s arrived, a helpful product expert will provide a one-on-one set up over the phone so you’ll get the maximum benefit from this new technology. Call now, and you’ll find out for yourself why so many people love their Perfect Choice Ultra. If you aren’t completely satisfied, you can return your purchase and only pay a small restocking fee depending on the condition of the product. Call Today, and be sure to ask about a special $100 discount for Rural Electric Nebraskan readers.

: We followed your advice lastmonth and hired a contractor we

think will give us an energy efficientrenovation. How do we manage the jobto make sure the project turns outright?

: Last month, I offered tips on howto hire a good contractor, but it’s

smart to realize that after the hiring iscomplete, contractors need to bemanaged. First, you should decide who will bethe main contact with your contractor.Clear communication is criticalbecause a renovation that includesenergy efficiency improvements comeswith extra challenges. A single point ofcontact will help avoid confusion, conflicts and cost overruns. Before the work starts, have adiscussion with your contractor aboutquality. You want the contractor toknow you’ll be carefully overseeing thework and that there may be othersinvolved in this oversight, such asbuilding inspectors, your electriccooperative or an independent energyauditor. You can discuss the standardsof a professional, high-quality job. Andyou can agree on the points at whichthe contractor will pause so you orsomeone you designate can review thework. At a minimum, an inspectionshould take place before you make aninterim payment. Here are a few examples of interimreview points: • The building envelope should beproperly sealed before insulation isinstalled because air leaks increaseenergy use and reduce comfort. • Replacement windows should beproperly flashed and sealed beforesiding and trim are installed, whichprevents moisture problems and air

leaks. • Some insulation measures can beinspected before they are sealed upbehind walls or ceilings. Almost all efficiency measuresrequire some kind of final inspection. For example, infrared thermometerscan show voids in blown insulation, and fiberglass batts can be visuallyinspected to ensure there are no airgaps and the batts are not compressed.

HVAC measures require specialattention. Nearly half of all HVACsystems are not installed correctly, which often causes uneventemperature distribution throughoutthe home, along with higher energybills. EnergyStar has a specialprogram to ensure quality HVACinstallation. Forced air systemstypically have poorly balanced supplyand return air delivery that can oftenbe improved. Air flow can be measured

at each register, and a duct blaster testcan identify and quantify ductleakage. When you review the work, it maybe helpful to take photos or to bring inan energy auditor. Be sure to havethese inspections outlined in thecontract and discussed beforehand sothe contractor is comfortable. It will be tempting to add “just onemore thing” along the way, and thecontractor may agree a change issimple and possible within thetimeframes. Contractors andcustomers often miscommunicateabout change orders and end updisagreeing about a additional costswhen the project is completed. Beforeyou make any changes, be sure to geta written cost quote. If it’s significant, you can then weigh the cost againstthe benefit of the change. It’s a good idea to maintain goodrecords as the project progresses. These records could be helpful forbuilding inspectors or to qualify forrebates or tax credits. When the renovation is complete, itmay be tempting to sign the check, shake hands and breathe a sigh ofrelief that it’s all over. Depending onthe size and complexity of the project,it may be worth the extra step ofhaving a final audit by a licensedenergy auditor. My neighbors were saved from ahome renovation disaster when anenergy audit discovered the energyefficiency contractor had failed toproduce the promised efficiencies. Thecontractor had to perform thousandsof dollars’ worth of improvements tofulfill the contract before my neighborsmade the final payment. Once you confirm that the work is100 percent complete, you can write acheck for the final payment, then sitback and enjoy your revitalized, moreenergy-efficient home!

live oil is a flavorful andversatile cooking oil that isoften trusted in popular

cooking methods such as sauteing,stir-frying, dressing, marinating andgrilling. It can also earn your trustwhen it comes to baking. With seven olive oil varieties to fitalmost any need, each Filippo Berioolive oil has its own distinct color, aroma and flavor characteristics.Among those seven, the Extra LightOlive Oil offers a delicate aroma andsubtle flavor that can complementyour favorite baked goods. Its highsmoke point helps keep those goodiesmoist, and with strong flavors likechocolate, it also lets the sweetnesscome through. Additionally, it provides high levelsof mono-unsaturated fat (“good” fat)and low levels of saturated fat (“bad”fat), making it a more nutritionalchoice when compared to butter ormargarine. Because you need lessolive oil than butter in baking, you’llsave calories as well. One easy way to incorporate oliveoil in your baked goods is during theprep work: where recipes call forbuttering or flouring pans, insteadbrush the pan with olive oil and dustwith flour for the same effect asbutter.
