Kawartha Quiltmakers’ Guild P.O. Box 50052 R.P.O. Lansdowne & High Peterborough, On Http://www.KawarthaQuiltmakersGuild.ca Meeting the lst Wednesday of the month At St. Anne’s Church, 859 Barnardo Ave. 9:30 —12:00 Volume XXV No 5 January 2008 President Yvonne McMahon 654-1174 [email protected] Vice President Cheryl Czaplinski 905-797-2223 [email protected] Program Helen Blaskievich 743-0162 [email protected] Workshops Judith Selby 748-3628 Newsletter Bev Longford 742-4305 [email protected] Happy New Year……Quilters, By the time you read this our turkey dinner and trimmings will be over and we will be looking forward to a new year. I hope Santa is good to you and brings you lots of sewing stuff for the winter days ahead. It will be nice to start on a project for our up-coming quilt show in 2009. Cheryl Czaplinski will be selling thread cones at the January meeting and donating part of the sale to the guild. See her note further on in the newsletter. Nominations for 2008/09 will take place in May. Cheryl Czaplinski will move up to be the presi- dent and all other positions will be open as the current membership has served their two year term. I am sure that there are a lot of members out there with many talents that could do any of the jobs available. It is always nice to get new ideas and people on the executive. The guild is only as good as the people behind it. At the January meeting I will be handing out a survey form and hope that all members will fill them in and deposit them in the box provided. You can sign it, or not whatever you prefer. I am looking for feedback on the newsletter mailing issue and the tea time treats. The executive changed the way that we sent out the newsletter and we decided that we would re-visit it in the New Year to see if this is the way we would like to keep it. We also talked about the coffee break at the executive meeting and felt that it seems to be getting a bit overwhelming. It takes a long time to get through the line up and we have been asking so many people to bring treats. I think that one or two treats and a cup of coffee per person should be enough. So please fill out the survey and give us some feedback on these two items. I know it will be impossible to please all the members but we will try to do our best. Best wishes and a happy New Year to you all. Yvonne Please have all contribution for the February to Bev Longford by Jan 4th. Reminder……...The January meeting has been changed to Jan 9th, 2008

lines for the committees to accommodate this? ______mail out ______leave as is

2. There have been some comments about the coffee break time, that it is taking too long to go through the line and that there are too many people bringing treats. It was suggested that we only need one or two treats with a cup of coffee and this might help the line up go through quicker.
