Church Photo Directory — we have added another day!

We have reserved an extra photo shoot day on Wednesday, September 16th. We can accommodate 25 more families. Sign up today in the lobby or go online to the church website, www.ilcs.org, click on the photo directory icon and follow the instructions to set your appointment.

Remember, families will receive a free 8x10 photo and a free directory, no purchase necessary.

Photo Session Hosts are needed!

Volunteers are needed to serve as hosts during the Church Photo Directory photo sessions taking place in the Parish Center. Hosts cover a 2-hour shift to greet the members coming in for their photos and to record

the information for the photo shoot. Please stop by the sign-up table for more information and to volun-teer your time.

Alumni Reunion Celebration:

7:00 pm—10:00 pm

Welcome Reception honoring our Alumni in the School Gymnasium.

We will be honoring the Graduation classes celebrating a ten year class

anniversary. Classes 2005, 1995, 1985, 1975, 1965, 1955, 1945, &

1935. Photos from each class year will be available for viewing. All

alumni and adult church members are welcome to attend! Come and

talk with fellow classmates and congregation members in a casual

setting. There will be a wine tasting with appetizers from 7:00-9:00 pm

and a Silent Auction which will conclude at 9:00 pm.

The cost to attend is $25.00 per person.

Lutherans for Life meeting at 2:00 pm at Holy Trinity church in Terryville. We will be finalizing plans for our Life rally at Immanuel in September.

We will be looking for some helpers for that event. Contact Don Smuda if you are interested.

Orphan Grain Train "Backpacks and School Supplies"

We are collecting backpacks and school supplies for needy children. There is a box in the hallway. This is a Thrivent Action Team so $250 will be donated along with anything the congregation brings in. Thank you for your support.

Public School/Home School Confirmation Classes

will begin this Thursday, August 27. Classes will be held each Thursday, and will run from 4:15 pm until 5:30 pm in room 10 on the second floor of our school. All students in grades 7 and 8 with a profile on our church database will receive a letter from Pastor Karner. If you have any questions, please contact the church office at 860-583-5649.

REMINDER - THIMBLE ISLAND CRUISE IS

THIS THURSDAY, AUG. 27

This Thursday, the 27th, the sixteen of us,

who purchased this Bristol Senior Center

Daytrip, will meet at 9:15 am. at the 240 Stafford Ave. Senior

Center. We will leave our cars in their parking lot. (Not here at

the church) We are on the second bus B that leaves at

9:30. We are scheduled for the afternoon cruise after lunch.

Estimated return 6 pm. Contact Carol with last minute

IMMANUEL’S YOUNG-AT-HEART LUNCH

September Lunch is on Thursday, September 3 at 11:30 in the

basement of the old school, which is handicap accessible.

We are asking everyone to try to bring Potluck foods to share,

according to the first letter of your last name.

If your last name begin with:

A thru G, please bring a HOT Dish.

(Ideas: Meatballs, Mac & Cheese, Pasta,

Meat, or Veggie Dish, Baked Beans);

H thru M, bring a yummy Dessert; and

N thru Z, bring a COLD dish.

(Ideas: Tuna Macaroni Salad, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, Jello

or Green Salad, Eggs).

After lunch, we will be playing your childhood version of . . .

Help Wanted

The church office received a call this past week from Jamie Jorgensen (712-253-8583), whose son will be working as an intern at ESPN, starting Sept. 14. He is a quadriplegic and needs help each morning, about 2 hours, from a qualified person.

CPR Class to be offered in September.
