These classes include: RS 391 Wisdom of the TaoRS 345 Taijiquan (CR/NC)RS 394 City of 10,000 Buddhas (CR/NC)RS 394 Zen Weekend (CR/NC)
Each of these classes will function as a stand-alone class that offers an introduction to its own specific topic. But students are encouraged to sign up for two or three or even all four of these classes to deepen their understanding and broaden their exposure. For those students who sign up for RS 391 Wisdom of the Tao and 345 Taiji, we will work together 5 days per week, which will enable us to build relationships among ourselves, and to intensify our exposure to Zen, Taoism, and the spiritual arts of China, Korea, and Japan.

This course offers the opportunity to study principles of Taoism through the practice of Taiji (T’ai Chi). The emphasis of the course is on learning and practicing Taiji (Wu Style), and on experiencing the effects of consciousness transformation. We will also learn various exercises deriving from Qigong and Xing Yi Quan, and consider classic Chinese texts such as the Tao Te Ching, Confucius’ Analects, and the I Ching. The course is CR/NC, in order to emphasize the sheer joy of learning, and to limit the effects of judgment, evaluation, and ranking.
