Papers with protective barriersFlexible packaging requires a barrier that prevents moisture, fat and aroma from penetrating the surface. Our ConFlex range contains grease-resistant products, which are appropriate for yellow fat applications that need barriers, such as fast-food products, crisp bags, butter wrapping or stock cubes.
For product safetyProduct safety is a basic requirement for us at BillerudKorsnäs. Our long experience has equipped us with deep knowledge of quality and process safety. Our manufac-turing processes are subject to rigorous product safety requirements and the majority of our papers is approved for food contact in accordance with BfR and FDA.

A range that benefits youInvesting in good packaging performance results in less waste and less discarded packaging. There is a growing awareness about the importance of replacing resource- demanding, rigid packaging with a flexible solution. Flexible packaging often weighs less and consists of a larger percentage of renewable raw material. Financial gains often go hand in hand with sustainable development.
From sustainable sourcesThe majority of our raw material comes from Sweden. Here, forestry is carefully controlled and managed in accordance with the regulations of the Swedish Forestry Act. For customers who require certified products, we also supply papers with the FSC® and PEFCTM traceability certificates.
With care for the environmentStriving for good environmental values is important for us at BillerudKorsnäs. Our mills have invested heavily in energy-saving technology and use biofuel from the forests as their main source of energy. Today, 97 percent of our energy need from the production is met with

Solutions for performanceBillerudKorsnäs tests and analyses barrier properties of paper and different laminates. We apply standardised measurements and perform several tests, such as oxygen and steam transmission and measurements of fat barrier properties. We offer our customers the opportunity to evaluate existing and new barrier solutions and, if necessary, we can suggest improvements for optimising the packaging.
