Australia has very different climatic conditions and wood species compared to New Zealand,North American and European countries. Wood in Australia is hardwood gum such as ironbark which burns long and extremely hot. New Zealand,North America and Europe burn softwood pine species. The Australian climate and wood require different design parameters that Kemlan have successfully provided since 1969.

Kemlan’s design technologies ensure our heaters pass the most current, stringent Australian emission and efficiency standards and importantly react to conditions that are more variable as seasons can change from warm to extremely cold very quickly. Sunny days and very cold nights are a common characteristic of the Australian winter climate. Unlike imported heaters, designed only for the slow long heat required for long consistently cold winters, Kemlan heaters let you “put your foot on the accelerator” (so to speak) for rapid heating when you need it most.

Australian hardwoods demand a robust heater which is why Kemlan heaters are all made with 6mm Australian steel with a firebrick lined base and advanced PYROTEK ® ceramic baffle. Our ideal mix of firebrick and steel produce Australian perfection compared with many overseas brands made with thinner steel and firebrick that inhibits increasing heat output when you need it.

ROBUST CONSTRUCTION AND DESIGN

Kemlan heaters utilise square, large surfaced secondary air tubes that allow air to be injected into the top of the firebox, burning the smoke completely plus providing a spectacular visual effect of dancing flames at the top of the firebox. Most importantly this achieves clean emissions at the top of the chimney to comply with today’s environmental standards.

In slow combustion heaters, secondary air tubes (whether made in stainless steel or mild steel) are never warranted by manufacturers and will ultimately burn out requiring replacement. As an Australian manufactured Brand, Kemlan makes the servicing and replacement of any parts as simple and inexpensive as possible for the greater long term enjoyment of your heater.

All Kemlan heaters meet AS 2918 installation and AS 4013 and AS 4012 standards for emissions and efficiency. 1. Burning wood in an efficient Jetmaster open fire or a Kemlan slow combustion wood heater produces

efficient home heating energy.

2. Carbon dioxide is created by burning wood in fireplaces, bush fires and decomposition. No energy is

utilised when wood decomposes or is burnt in bush fires.

One 900mm length of heatshield must be fitted to the flue to achieve clearances to heat sensitive materials (measurements A B C D E F).For all freestanding models a floor protector is required where the floor is heat sensitive. Thickness to be a minimum of 9mm heat resistant material. With regard to the Coupe Insert and Wall Penetration units; they both require 9mm of non combustible sheet below the unit. All dimensions shown are approximate. Check all dimensions accurately before installation. Before installation refer to the installation instructions. In line with our policy of continuous improvement, we reserve the right to alter specifications without notice.
