Autonomous Universities Admission to the University is based on an applicant’s
A-Level grades and interviews/portfolio submissions/aptitude tests where relevant.

For students planning to enter the Arts Institutions(NAFA and LASALLE)
The Arts Institutions
Courses are hands-on with a focus in visual and performing arts (e.g.
Design, Animation, Fine Arts, Media, Dance, Music).
Students graduate with a diploma or degree.
In addition to the GCE A-Levels qualifications, students interested in applying to the Arts Institutions will also need to pass an entrance test or audition, which may include performing a musical piece or submitting a portfolio.
The Nanyang Academy of Fine ArtsNAFA offers specialisedprogrammes in the following disciplines:• Arts Management• Design and Media• Fine Art• Dance• Music• Theatre
*For Dance, Music and Theatre (Mandarin Drama) courses, the minimum GCE O-Level English grade required is D7.
The LASALLE College of the ArtsLASALLE offers a range of diplomas and degrees in the following disciplines: • Arts management• Dance• Design• Film• Fine Art
• Media art• Music• Theatre
For students planning to enter the Polytechnics

Diploma courses are hands-on and focus on
preparing students for work.
Students graduate with a Diploma in a
specific area of study.
A-Level holders may apply to the polytechnics
through:
Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) Admission is on the basis of O-Level scoresOnly for students who had not previously been enrolled in a polytechnicMore information is available in the JAE Booklet
Direct Admissions Exercise (DAE)Admissions will take into account both O-Level and A-Level scoresMore information is available on each polytechnic’s website
A-Level holders may be eligible for advanced standing, i.e. be exempted from some polytechnic modules. Please check with the polytechnics for more information.
For students planning to retake the GCE A-Level
How can I retake my A-Level?
When re-taking your GCE A-Level, take note of the following:
1. If you are eligible for N.S. and have a full GCE A-Level Cert, you may not retake your GCE A-Level as a school candidate. However, you may retake your GCE A-Level as a private candidate;
2. As a private candidate, you may choose to retake your GCE A-Level on your own or enrol in aprivate school. For information regarding Private Education in Singapore, please refer to the Councilfor Private Education website: http://www.cpe.gov.sg/.
